Description

A great wild camp site on Rio Baker, our favorite river in this area with the bluest water we've ever seen. Only amenity is a fire pit. Room for tents. Unfortunately, no longer possible to come with a car as there is a closed gate, but perfect for cyclists! Only downside here is that it's a bit close to the road so you will here some cars and people can see you. But crazy good views.

Still possible to camp here for cyclists as it is easy to walk around the gate and there are no signs indicating private land. Beautiful camping! Zero rafting groups during our two-nights stay (Wed-Fri). A fire ring and plenty of firewood around. A bit close to the road, so people can see you from the cars.

This is a nice spot, yes, BUT this is also the final landing point for rafting Tours. They come with 4 boats and have a sit-in here with 20 People. We were asked to move the car for loading the boats and giving them space for their Drinks/Snacks. And then it's a steady coming and going of visitors and others looking for a camping spot. The road (and dust) are kind of annoying. The road here is steep but no 4WD necessary. There is also a no camping sign....but so far nobody bothered us. For us definately NOT a top spot although the river is beautiful.

It has a nice view, but beware that when we were here on a January weekday this pullout was also used by the rafting tours from puerto Bertrand whose trucks came down to pick up the rafts and then the rafters hung out having mates, so for that not so nice.

Really beautiful spot, well worth the effort to squeeze your way to the water (not steep, but quite narrow through bushes and have to navigate past s hole in the ground. Our 2x4 made it). There were two other tent camping groups here (German and Czech) when we arrived so it was a little crowded. A guy from the rafting place came by late in the afternoon and said camping here is prohibited, as it is private land (it is where they take their rafts out). We were super friendly so he let us stay until the morning and even let us keep our fire when he said it was not allowed...and I think we would have been able to stay longer except that the Czech group were crazy rude to him and they ended up in a shouting match (their tents were where he needed to drive to get the rafts onto the truck, and they didn't want to move). So remember to always be friendly - we are guests in their country. As mum used to say, you will always get further in life with honey. :) worth staying as long as you can - despite some road noise it is very pretty. Also, Driveway is gravel, but steep. Might need a run up at the bottom to get out.

We spent a few days over Christmas here. Beautiful river with really big trout! Some road noise during the day, but none at night.

This spot is money! Great view. Amazing fishing! We stayed for 5 days. There is a small town just 5km away if you need beer or a few supplies items.

A great wild camp site on Rio Baker, our favorite river in this area with the bluest water we've ever seen. Only amenity is a fire pit. Room for tents and I think a big rig would fit here, although the entry is a bit sketchy- walk it first. Only downside here is that it's a bit close to the road so you will here some cars and people can see you. But crazy good views. We squeezed our way all the way to the river front. Amazeballs. Stayed here for three days, if you can squeeze your way to the river like we did you have a million dollar view.
