Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
There is a sign that indicates this area is exclusively for fishing and boat launching parking.
Report Check-InThere are signs clearly stating you may only park if you are actively hunting, fishing, or boati g but was desolate so we stayed the night. No problems, nice field but close to the road so you will hear cars on the dirt road in the morning and possibly be visited by a ranger. Good spot just be cautious and respectful.
Report Check-InThis is a long way off the highway. About 15 miles on a narrow twisty road. There is a train track nearby, we heard the whistle blowing although it’s still early in the evening so we don’t know if it goes by in the middle of the night. The mosquitoes are horrible...you’ll want lots of bug spray. On a positive note it should be quiet as it’s at the end of a dirt road.
Report Check-InA parking area for the trail and for boat launch into the South Fork Shenandoah River just off of the dirt road. We arrived late, 7.30pm and it was getting dark so the place was deserted and quiet. A fee is due for hunting and fishing but no mention of overnight parking or camping so we assume the occasional over night stop out of season is ok.
