Description

Update: park entrance and two nights is now 300 pesos ($18 USD). If they don’t see you coming in and you travel away from the lake you will likely not be asked to pay.

There is a dirt road to come here but if you have time it is ok (we've been there with our RV.)
The park is really an amazing quiet and wild place to stay for several days.
there is a camping area and some cabanas near here but we preferred this place (don't know the price for those other places).

Latest Check-Ins

They closed and reopened sometime in 2024. Now they have a legit guy with legit logos on vehicle and receipts for 300pesos which includes park admission and 2-nights camping in the park. Receipt stated its used for trash removal, waste removal etc…. Very clean and nice place. Restrooms are at every camp but not so nice. We don’t need them and camp on the lake for solar anyway.

Report Check-In

This place is really crowded on weekends~and really, not that wild. It is really over grazed and abused. But, it is nice to see the locals want to get out. I suspect all the wildlife are outside the park and looking in , asking, what are all those people during in our habitat!

Report Check-In

Ask the staff at the park headquarters to guide you to the beginning of the trail up to Hansen Peak - it takes about 90 minutes return, is well marked by scraps of yellow plastic and has superb views over the park and beyond. (I came midweek and had the entire park to myself, aside from staff. Saw a lynx!)
