as described. pit toilets are closed. seems to be construction on one side, so direct access to the back side is limited. think you can get back there using a different road or maybe a way around the construction. front side is open and clean. law enforcement present. they just wave when they go by. strong phone signal and clean.
Report Check-InDrove through campground and saw only one sign on one cabana "Day Use Only, No Overnight Camping".
Report Check-InStayed here last night and had a slow morning. Didn’t leave until about 1pm and wasn’t bothered at all. Camped on the east side since I got in late and some of the roads around to the other side of the pond were flooded and looked sketchy in the dark. One other camper van was on the west side when I woke up in the morning.
Strong AT&T LTE cell service.
2x pit toilets were well stocked with toilet paper but also full of spider webs and spiders. Beware.
Quiet and peaceful with quacking ducks. You could hear the trucks driving to the houses down the road, but not much traffic thankfully.

From highway 84 (or 60), take a Left on 212S - right on 272 then a left at the end ( there is a sign to the park) first right, et voilà.

Back on the road, still going west on the 84, there was a sign “Bosque Redondo Park”. I am gussing this is a simpler more direct way to the spot..
Peaceful and lovely. It gets nice and cool at night, which is mercy from the hot days of the south.
Seems like a bird sanctuary, many pretty chirps and kaws and black ducks in the pond. Pond does not taste super good, but you’ll see that under the floating nature there is crystal clear water. Good water is the only thing missing here. There are two toilet houses, tables, shade and garbage cans.
We tented without a problem, the sheriff didn’t say a word during his late morning patrol.
There is also a ranch, so some pickup trucks were passing through on the road side of the lake. We chose the opposite side; pure privacy and respect.
Report Check-InFree camping by lake (west shore). Picnic tables, trash, fire pits kinda. Have slept here in a camper and a van. Could tent camp as well.
