Great views of the lake. Can camp really close to shore. Watch out for soft sand, 4WD recommended. Very windy the night we stayed there. A tent definitely would have blown away. We car camped. No one else there.

Be careful with the sand on the sides of the road. We were alone with the guanacos. The place is windy but beautiful !

Very quiet and great view of the lake and mountains. Can be very windy and be careful of the sand on the edge of the road.
We saw 1 fox.

Wind swept and sand blasted but beautiful, especially during sunset.
We camped here in a 2wd van but did not drive the last part to the lake itself due to loose sand.
Nandus, guanacos and a cheeky fox all around

A beautiful sunset tonight - so very quiet and peaceful. 2 other campers. A still lake with 2 pink flamingos by the beach. Careful of sides of the track, can be soft and deep sand.

Beautifully as described. you can go much further toward the lake as the gravel ground is hard. much further than the actual location. Also with a 2WD. Regarding the other comment that says "destroyed by rain". It's true that the road is a little compromised in some placed but you can still go down all the way even with a 2WD.

This is the most beautiful place I have seen. There isn't wind, there isn't mosquitos. We could swim on the lake and fish!!!!

Beautiful spot!! But not windy so many many many musquitos! Decided to leave. Unfortunately, because this spot is amazing. No one there. Very quiet. The road to get there is gravel.

MAGICAL! We just loved it, you can go very close to the water and sleep with the sound of the waves (yes, like at the beach!). A bit windy when we were there but okay since there are a lot of flies if there's no wind. @photographers: amazing nightsky/stars, no disturbing lights for miles! Took great pictures of the milky way. 😊

This is an absolutely stunning spot, but DO NOT camp here if it’s at all windy and you have a tent (rooftop or otherwise), or want any wind protection. We thought it might not be too bad but our rooftop tent was shaken all night. There’s absolutely nowhere to shelter from the wind out here. Otherwise gorgeous, with otherwordly sunrises and sunsets over the lake.

georgious spot by Lago Cardiel when there is no wind. the colors of the lake are amazing and there are so many salmons to fish. we meet some locals as we are Friday afternoon and they left after the sunset so we had a quiet night.
stay on the road and don't go outside cause to ground is like butter. you can't see it and it can be very trappy just a few meters away the road. we met a defender that had to call a truck to get out.
if windy, you can go at the galpón higher on the road.

from the main road deviates a road to the Lake. we stopped 200 meters from shore. we have a 2wd, when we have seen the sand, we do not have continued. during the day there was also a family Argentina. night only US. no wind. in the morning a Foxe Family is coming to say hallo. he approached much. very curious.

Didn’t see anyone down here. Super windy night and really no shelter but we’d come all the way here so stayed. No issues. Surrounded by guanacos.
