Description

Beautiful spot at the top end of Playa Hermosa. Next to a lovely clear fresh water river with cool water (better for cooling down in than the warmer sea) with rope swing. Large area for camping under palm trees slightly set back from the beach. Police have said fine to camp here. Lots of small fire ruminants around from previous campers and some small make shift toilets around. Accessible from main road however small river crossing to cross. Huge beach with great waves. Not too far from town, car park further down the beach offers showers and toilets for 500 colons.

Beautiful wild camping beach spot! We had a very quiet night and the view was amazing! We preferred this spot as the other ones at playa hermosa were very crowded.

Nice place, we were alone. There are several pleasant places, either at the bottom in the grass, or on pebbles by the sea or by the river. It is nice to swim in the river, the water is fresh and transparent. Unfortunately there are some sandflies.

Crowded in the weekend. A lot of spots occupied by tents.

We didn’t like this place at all. When we arrived (15.30), the sun was already behind the small peninsula on the right. The place was muddy, there were a lot of ants and it didn’t feel good. We wanted to go surfing here, but there were a lot of rocks under the water (visible at low tide). So we drove back to Playa Esterillos.

Great spot as described. Good surf on bit bigger swells. Busy at weekend with locals. They make it through that Creek with 2wd low clearance passenger vehicles. No 4x4 required. If you can't make it here you have chosen the wrong vehicle for your trip.

Report Check-In

Last 100m you need 4x4 to go up and down the river crossing.

except for some fishers and a handful of (local) tourists by day, you are alone surrounded by nature. a lot of possibilities to camp in shade, close to the beach. We felt very safe.
