Chile
Permanently closed. However, some buildings, benches and tables of the former campground still remain. There is a barrier on the access road and there is no other way around for vehicles. Thus, the area is only accessible by foot.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.

Report Check-InThe CONAF camping has been closed for 2 years. We camped at the beach anyway. No running water or infrastructure.
Report Check-InStill closed, nobody there, deteriorating campground. I stayed in rig on parking lot. Think putting up a tent a bit out of sight as a good option.
Report Check-InAs they said the camping is "closed" but not really... It's really easy to access from the beach or even from the main gate if you have a motorbike like us (or bike). Firepit, heaps of wood and shelter. Prefect. And really nice view :) Our night was really quiet too. Go for it.
Report Check-InCamping is still closed. no infrastructure. just some spots with numbers on the beach and in the woods right next to the beach.
nice wildcamp although the boats are noisy...
it's free :)
Report Check-InCampsites are 10k pesos per site. Beautiful view and some hiking trails from the campground to the volcano.
Report Check-InDidn't stay, as it is a bit overpriced. Showers open from 19.00 to 11.00
Report Check-InBeautiful spot on the lake. Fire pits, hot water & covered areas. We payed 5 mil for a spot without a fire pit as the others were full. They were 10 mil otherwise (1-5 people). Was quiet but windy in our spot.
Report Check-InWe spent the night (chil 10,000. Pesos) on the large parking lot in front of the official campground. However, we had prior approval from the park rangers that this was not a problem. Clean toilets (300 chil. Pesos) there is a jetty Petrohué.
From the car park / campground starts a very nice trail along the lake and up the lava field of the volcano. The tour of the Saltos de Petrohué is quite nice, but the entrance (1,500 chil. Pesos / person) and the parking fee (270 chil. Pesos / 20 min.) are not really worth it.
