Nice guy who can help you with basic problems with both land cruisers and land rovers. Just go to the Seserem NP main gate and ask for Riaan. He welded the mount for our diesel tank in 1h for N$400.

We had a problem with the welding on our bull bar, which was shearing from the impact of the corrugations, and this was the only option in town.
The guys in the NWR workshop had a go but I didn’t get the impression that they did a lot of welding, and it all sheared off again a few km down the road. We had to spend a few hours by the side of the road to take the bull bar off the car so that we could continue safely.
I hope these guys would be better if you had a mechanical issue with your car, but I would be very careful about asking for help with welding, and would go to a proper workshop when you have a chance.
Report Check-InWe needed some welding on our roof rack after driving on the rough corrugated roads. We asked at the gate and were sent to the mechanic - I don't think he was Riaan (perhaps Chalice?). He said they could do the job today and called his welder there and then. We negotiated and agreed a price of N$400 for the job.
They ended up causing even more damage to our roof rack, and then when we insisted they put it right they tried to tell us that the more time spent the more they would be charging us! What a joke!
Under close supervision they managed to do something to get us going again, but what a bodge! We will now have to go to a proper welder/mechanic to repair and complete the job.
