Description

Buddha was born here! ;) Parking area close to the World Peace Pagoda. A bit busy through the day and in the early morning. Small restaurants and souvenir shops close by. Quiet in the night.

We stayed two nights for free, had a delicious dinner in return! There are toilets one can use free if charge.
Only five minutes from Lumbini Park and little shops.

It was a nice place to stay. We stayed here for two nights, Nobody disturbed and nobody asked silly questions like Indians. People here was so friendly

Got the additional ticket and parked up inside the western zone near Chinese and Korean monasteries. Guards were a bit funny at first suggesting we had to be out before 9pm, but we told them we would probably stay at one of the monasteries and they were then ok with us parking over night and in the end not bothered that we stayed in the vehicle. No facilities but quiet apart from usual monastic sounds from 5am.

At the ticket office next to this (paid) parking you can buy an additional ticket to take your car inside the monastic zone from the western gates. There are some quiet lanes where you can park up for the night. Just no facilities. Alternatively, you could spend the night in the Korean monastery’s dorm and attend their beautiful morning prayer ceremonies.

Not a very good place at all. The only good thing is that it's flat tarmac. The running water toilets are pay ones and close at 18:00. The stall holders burn the rubbish at night including plastic bottles. If you forget to set your alarm there's no problem as at around 05:00 the tourists start to arrive. Bus horns, the lot!
there are many smaller places around not on this parking that are better within 1km. Look around.
