Forbidden to camp here ! It is in a national park : signs everywhere saying Forbidden to sleep !!!

The place was totally flooded by the river with strong current (December) so be very careful with staying in the riverbed ! So we stayed in the driveway. The gravel road is quite busy :a dozen of cars passed, even 2 trucks during the night (and it was New Year's Eve !). We moved back up to a flat area only to sleep because we then can be seen from the road. We had tried a few other places downstream but the wind in the area carries dusty sand and it is hard to find a sheltered place. Also, all the other spots marked were flooded, so everybody should be really careful staying away of the riverbed.

Gorgeous place for some nights. Totally calm and hidden from the main road. Take care of baboons in the morning.

The riverbed before the „real“ river is very big and offers a lot of great places. Also with direct view to the water. There are some fireplaces a bit away from this marked place (ca. 200 m down the river). We found that most beautiful. Also for really big rigs.

6 months later we were there again. And it was again so beautiful. The quietness, peacefulness and the nice landscape around with the big mountains in front is really great. We love it.

great spot. hard ground if you go upstream as you enter the area.

As described, perfectly hidden behind the trees, a wonderful place

The place is at the river side on the riverbank. You need a 4x4 to come the last 500 meter out. The place is behind trees and on grass. There is firewood at the place.
When you come from east you pas a big rusty and yellow digging machine on your left hand side and short afterwards there are tracks to the left. You drive over the dry riverbed. There are several possibilities but check them out. The one wee chose was behind trees. Vary nice and safe.
