Tajikistan
The people at the tourist information office are very knowledge about the region and speak perfect english. its the only one in Tajikistan ! They have lists of homestays, pamir trek maps, can help you organize any hike, trek, drivers, camping gear rental, they know when roads and passes are closed and they know good mechanics. As any Tajiks they help you with anything for free. They also have a rather good handicraft store where it's a bit more expensive then the bazaar but higher quality. Zhandiya is really great and knows her region, the pamirs and more. You should stop by as you walk thru the park.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
They moved to the other side of the park. I updated the location.
As they are still waiting for the official okay to move (from the Government), there is no sign outside.
The entrance is an unsuspicious looking brown metal door (just behind the cafe that's on the street)
the guy is very helpful! Got a papermap for Pamir.
The Ticket for Zorkul is no longer sold here. You have to go now to the office of the Park, 2,5km away.
super helpful!! Mirzo (?) is extremely knowledgeable and will take time to answer any of your questions. here you can get the permit for the zorkul reserve. it's 20som pp per day, plus a vehicle fee (10som per day for motorcycle).
Report Check-InVery helpful guys. You can drink a real coffe (espresso), and not dirty water, pardon, American coffee :-) (picky Italian). Anyway, here they will tell you you have to pay to extend your car permit. NOT true! It's free! For the rest, great tips and infos here (and good espresso :-) )
