Quiet, lonely, hidden, easy accessable and only 500m from main road big hard sand leveled riverside spot. A little bit windy against moskitos and with shadowing trees - we feel it is close to a perfect wildcamp spot only drinking water is missing.
We marked the entry of the small good dirt road ending at the river.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday. Very nice place, you can park up under the trees for shadow. Don't know if I would spend the night here, as it's right in the river bed.
Two guys where there washing their motorcycle and car in the river.
The small dirt road might be a little bit too tight for big rigs although it's mostly soft bushes. Some overhanging trees.
Superb spot, very quiet, not visible from the road. When we were there the water level was high and the peeble beach was just enough to park our camper. Beware of the water level, when we were here the water fell 3 meters overnight but recent traces showed a level beyond the access path. Water is brown but it remains pleasant to swim given the temperatures. Some locals come here during the evening and the morning, they were nice. Claro signal very weak. Some mosquitoes and sandflies, but nothing compared to Central America.
Report Check-InNice spot along the river. beware that the river rises quite a lot when it rains (we were almost flooded in the morning hahaha). So put your tent or van not close to the edge. we also met some locals during the evening that seemed to use the place as a "love spot". but overall, very quiet night, we recommend.
Report Check-InStopped here on a Wednesday evening on my motorcycle hoping to camp.
It's a busy place. Three or four cars, some motorcycles, and mototaxis. Lots of people.
One guy came over to chat. Friendly enough, and if I were more social, I probably could have hung around and camped later, but this was not lonely at all.
Report Check-InLovely place for a swim. Might return later if we don’t find a better spot but need to resupply first. Easier for freestanding tents as it’s sandy or pebbly. Leaves marking the recent high water levels. Some locals turned up to wash their clothes. The usual rubbish sadly present.
Report Check-InPlace is still there and still nice. We were alone on a Saturday night. Sunday morning some locals showed up to wash their vehicles. No mosquitos thanks to the soft wind, however, it dropped for an hour and they showed up right away. Then the wind picked up and all was good again. We received some signal but couldn't get Claro to work.
Report Check-InAnything but lonely when we arrived! It was new years day, no spaces left to park and at least 150 people enjoying what looks to be a lovely spot. We had to go back to the North most river spot on ioverlander, 8 km up the road. Choose your day wisely
Report Check-InNice spot, but we had no wind and therefore lots of flies. Mosquitos were not such a problem. Some locals told us to be careful because the water level would rise, and it actually did, so that we had to set up very close to the trees. The road here is pretty narrow so might be difficult for big rigs. Watch out for lots of glass bottles laying around. Movistar 3G reception quite fast.
