Oranjemund Beach | Wild Camping

We had a cool, fresh night directly at the beach. Lots of playgrounds and braii stations. In the evening it get really cold and wet, but it is ok after a trip through the inner country.

Unique stand on the west coast beach next to the Orange River Mouth. 1 Ablution with flush toilet no showers no hot water. Each stand has a braai with a small build roof for shelter, powerpoint, solar lighting. with a coffee shop within walking distance. not fenced and no security guards.

It's a great place! We are here on a Saturday night and definitely some other people around. But every one just minds their own business and there is plenty of space. We took one of the shelters furthest back, great wind shelter. Build a big fire in the braai area and enjoyed a space out of the wind. Can definitely recommend.

for cyclest it paradise but you'll need push through a bit of sand. There plenty of these shelters , power long gone . but toilet & water .. spar in town 8km for supplies or treats .. cooler than in land so nice break

All the diamond area "Sperregebiet area" was forbidden to sleep so we had to drive until this beach to find a safe, quiet and authorized place to sleep. May be full on weekends but we were completly alone during the week! To be protected from the strong wind, we parked in front of the ablutions block and we slept very well. You can find small huts, brai, garbage bins and water tap. Nice beach. Perfect for us !

We stayed here for a night and enjoyed the cold breezes. Be prepared for a lot of wind :-)

Stayed here 4 nights as we had to fix something on the truck. Quite a bit of traffic during day time also on the beach. But quite at night. Braai, toilet, water tap behind the toilet building if you need to refill your tank.

We stayed here on a weekend, it was not very busy and everybody left when it grew dark. Lots of places where you can camp and easy access for big rigs.

I didn't camp there, but there is electricity and water at the ablution block. Beautiful region that is now open for tourists without permit.

You can wildcamp on the beach but be prepared for wind, lots of it.

This is a Beach site with braai facilities and a toilet. Gorgeous view at the sea side. MTC 3G works.
