Something not right?

Description

We camped a few nights on this sandy beach. A few locals fishing doing laundry and tending horses cows and pigs. Bought fish from the fisherman. Sand is soft and we had to use Maxx tracks sand boards to get off the beach in our 2wd Vanagon. Should be no problem for 4wd. Quiet secluded beach camp site BUT UNREACHABLE DURING RAINY SEASON

Definitely can not be reached during the rainy season.the track is simple too muddy. We have a 4x4, high clearance and lots of experience. Couldn’t even walk it without getting badly stuck and losing a shoe. Too bad because it is really only one bad part (about 15m long) , the rest of the road is ok.

It is rainy season and there was no way we could access the beach. The cows have made this path so very muddy- we would have got stuck for sure and when we turned around about 30 cows came charging by!

nice place, too many little flyies/mosquitos hefe in may 2022. not biting but too many. 4x4 recommended. stayed one night. kind locals around.

To me certainly one of the best beaches on the island, remote and with lots of space. It appears like an endless beach on the ocean. The big advantage is that you can walk or swim in freshwater. It is shallow, so you can walk a fair bit in the water if you prefer that. ;-)
I am sure you can camp here with a vehicle or even tent in peace and united with mother nature!

Report Check-In

Arrived late and could not reach the beach as the last portion of the road was too muddy with clay. Would need a tractor if I had tried.
Spent the night in middle of the dirt road between the camping spot and the pavement. No one bothered.
