Description

Mod Note. This is a last resort for those who forget to get it at the border.

Get your tourist card here. Stay to the right when the road to Ensenada splits. Follow signs for "Zona Turistica." 2 miles after the split you'll come to a stop light, there's a sign for Imigration. Make a super sharp right. Look for the white building on your right called "Central Integral de Servicio." There is a white fence in front. Go inside to the left. Give your passport to the Tourist Card attendant and fill out the form. The attendant will give it back to you to pay at the window across from it called "Banjercito." $29 USD or $550 pesos. Take your receipt back to the tourist window. The attendant will stamp your passport and give you a tourist card that you keep in your passport. You'll need it for checkpoints in Baja Sur. The office is open M-F 8-5. And Saturday 10-? I read it sometimes wasn't open in another guidebook. It always has been when we've come through. I think you can get your fishing license here as well, but we do it in San Diego. ( The GPS of this location wouldn't save so I wrote out the directions above)

The guys here were not happy that we didn't get our tourist card at the Tijuana border. They advised this office was for sea and air arrivals only. They grudgingly issued it to us anyway after we apologised for our mistake. Some very mixed reviews of this place, maybe just your luck what mood the guys are in on the day

Got my card there today, fast & easy process. I explained them I was confused when passing the border at Tecate, and it was ok.

Vehicle TIP is for boats only, you have to go to banjercito en La Paz before taking the ferry for your car.

They definitely were the coolest customs agents I've met.

Don’t plan on getting your tourist visa here. We were told we have to get it as we cross the border into Mexico. The office in Ensenada is only for people that arrive by sea.

Just did my FMT here but not before the officer gave me a lecture.
If you’re crossing the border from San Diego the official Migración office is in Tijuana. The officer was really hard on this matter as tensions are rising with the immigrant caravan heading towards the US.
