This lovely yellow hotel has great camping facilities in the grounds and you’re also able to use the hotel bar & pool. There is free wifi in the restaurant. Ablutions very old, not too clean as is the swimming pool. Price is P100 pp.

In this time of the year it is not crowded with overlander trucks.
There is schade, lots of space, new very clean showers, electricity. The Security situation seems to be good.
Wonderful Pool!!!
The campside is slowly taken over from massiv overlander trucks with big groups - they took away our chairs and table while we were in town - not a behaviour we can not accept and no tolerance at all.
At 5:o' clock big packing up and getting ready for the gamedrives. We can understand it but it is not any more a convenient place for individual travellers any more. The management tries to get it better organized to satisfy everybody!
Some shade from the trees, little grass and good ablutions, on the river (or what is left) about 200m from the hotel and pool. Several guards and lots of light at night reflect the security improvement; the shining barbed wire on top looks a lot better than the rusty wire-netting fence below. 156 BWP ppn.

Report Check-InWe stayed here for 2 nights twice. The campsite is basic but has clean ablutions with soap and toilet paper. The hotel itself is pleasant and you can make use of the bar, restaurant (the burgers are fantastic!) and pool. The campsite has an electric fence, razor wire and security foot patrols so it's unlikely a robbery would happen again (see previous reviews). A good, cheap option in Maun - P133 ppn There's a bottle shop nearby behind Shell.

Report Check-InI had used sedia last year and decided to go back even after reading about the theft. Update from Sept 2022. The management have upped their security and have put barbed wire and electric fences by the riverside, huge spitlights and also 3 security guards on site. They now also accept large overlanding companies and we were there when 2 of these were also camping so it was rather busier then I am used to especially for the abolutions and pool. Had a good steak agaun for dinner pula 110. Wifi still good by the pool. I wish management would just clean up the camping area and re vamp the abolutions with some good maintenance.
Happy to see they reacted well to the theft problem.
WARNING: ROBBERY, DON’T CAMP HERE!
We camped in the garden behind Sedia Riverside Hotel on 29/06/2022 and got seriously robbed for a total amount of 15.000€ (!) while we were sleeping with our 3 little kids inside our rooftop tent!
There was only 1 other overlander camping that night and 2 watchmen were around so we thought it would be a safe place, but unfortunately it’s not!! Afterwards we heard from other overlanders that there have been thefts before at this campsite, so make sure to avoid this place!
There was a bit of wind that night and a lot of trees around which made quite some noise which is probably why we didn’t hear it when the robbers smashed our car window and took all our valuables including a professional camera, 3 objectives, our laptop, drone, satellite phone and cash money for a total amount exceeding 200.000 Pula or 15.000€.
Immediately after we noticed the theft in the early morning, the police and crime investigation unit arrived. They looked for traces and found the fence facing the river had been cut. The 2 watchmen were called and declared that they left the campsite at 4 AM without any reason while they were supposed to stay until 6AM. As the watchmen were most probably involved, they were arrested so we had a little bit of hope the crime investigation unit would manage to trace back some of our stolen items during the following weeks, but unfortunately they didn’t.
The hotel management seemed to be friendly as long as we were there and promised to follow up this police case carefully, but as soon as we left Maun 3 days (and hours and hours at the police station) later, they just ignored us. We asked them regularly to provide us with an update, but despite all our efforts, they never send any feedback and now they have even blocked our WhatsApp number.
This theft has sadly ruined the rest of our overlanding trip both financially and mentally. We never felt safe again afterwards and especially our kids got traumatized by what happened that night. We tried to give it some time, but unfortunately had to decide to quit our trip 2 months later and ship our car back to Europe, so please: don’t ruin your travel, don’t go there!

Big space for camping, with security. Incredibly fast internet at restaurant/bar/pool/reception area: what took 8h overnight at African Bush Camp was done in 60 sec here. Plus fast Mascom at campsite. Good value.
We loved our stay in Sedia. The campings spots are in the back but no river view. There are many shade areas and in most of the sights you have the power station, and few ones you have a big shelter with a sink. Ablutions are pretty clean and showers are great, only thing is that is at entrance of camping area so it can get bit far from the spots (100, 200 meters). Price is 120 pulas pp, what is a lot less than Audi Camping (180 pp). The pool area is really amazing, refreshing big pool with comfortable chairs (only 6 of them for all lodge and camping guests). Wifi is free and fast and staff is really helpful. Excelent option in Maun (where some simple Guesthouse is around 1600 pula the room).
Report Check-InBehind the hotel is the campsite with a view on the river. A few spots have there own shaded area with sink. the shared ablution is clean and the shower are hot.

we stayed here 5 nights, P 110 pp, conveniently located for exploring Maun. newly renovated ablutions which are quite a treck from the camping pitches. the tensile is lit like a soccer stadium at night and there are usually 2 security guards around but still on the last night while we were at the pool/restaurant area someone went through our stuff in our tent . only a fancy lighter was stolen , but not a good feeling at all

Very nice place at the river. Power points on each campsite, some with sink/running water. Ablutions are about to be renovated, hot shower available. Place is very clean. Enjoyed my stay
Report Check-InWeird and pretty rundown campground. Lots of space, pitches not numbered, so just pick your fav. Some have water and electricity, some don’t. One old and not that clean ablution block in the upper area where overlanding trucks stay, a long hike from riverfront spots. But they seem to be building another ablutions block in the riverfront, as well. Take care of your valuables, the night guard reported us constant security issues. As an improvement, there’s now that one guard patrolling the area with K9 dog. We were supposed to stay several nights, but opted to see other campsites and never returned. The place would have much potential, but broken water taps / braai stands would need to be repaired, ablutions renewed, etc. Staff was friendly and food ok, bar/pool area nice, good central location.
Report Check-InThe campsite in Sedia is now 100p per person. It is still worthed to go there. The wifi is very good and the swimming pool is a benediction!
The staff is wonderful! Just one thing, the campsites between the ablutions and the river are not so nice (it was smelling bad). So better to set your camp next to the overlanders buses. Sometimes difficult to find space but much better. There’s electricity in a lot of sites.
We had a nice stay. Nice place just out of town. Paid P90 p.p.
Staff is nice, pool was good. A nice and affordable campsite and a bit of luxury after a couple of wildcamp nights.
Also big busses of bigger country tours stop here but we didn’t mind.

70 Pula pppn
We stayed a total of 6 nights here before and after visiting the Khwai region. It is still 70 Pula, the cheapest we paid in whole of Botswana for camping. Even though there were between 3-6 overland trucks at a time it wasn't overly noisy and we never had to wait in line for the bathroom and things like running out of hot water weren't a problem.
Report Check-InVery nice campsite - sites by the river are quieter. Choose your own spot as there are no defined sites. Power and taps. Amenities fine but can get busy. Lovely restaurant with good food and cold beer. Some of the wait staff can be iffy but we had a gem.

we didnt really like the campsite. its a big ground, you can camp wherever you want. mostly not flat. there are places with river few. only one, old and dirty facility house. a lot of overladercars stopp there. so you will be lucky if you have a warm shower. three braai on the area and some water taps. water is potabel and with a good taste! it was ok for being close to the airport and the citty (for doing the delta fligth)
Looks like we where rather lucky last time to find a lonely Campground here. This time they had up to 4 Overland Trucks. But there is still enough place for All of us!! Still love this place!!

Report Check-InLarge Campsite behind the Hotel with some grassy and some sandy Spots. Some mobile Braai Pits, some Electricity Sockets and some Water Taps are spread out over the Area. Ablutions not perfect but still okay. We also had no Problems with the Safari Trucks as they parked in the upper Section. Pool looked good, Wifi didn't work. We also paid 70 P pppn.

There are a lot of Overlandtrucks here, but hhen you pick a place near the river, you have a quiet place.
There are a lot of guards walking in evening and at night. Is there a reason for?
Very good value at P70 pppn. Overlander trucks were here but not a problem because they have a section close to the hotel while independent travelers stay down by the river. Wifi was very good.
