Perfect for a quick stop along route 97. On the side of Pine River (some locals told us that's how they call the river).
When going towards Dawson Creek turn right just before the bridge.
After about 2-3 minutes on the easy gravel road you will see a nice spot which looks like a roundabout with a firepit ring in the middle.
Should be totally fine to camp here after what the locals told us.

Collected and burned a mountain of used toilet paper. Guys it looks and feels nicer when there isn’t used paper everywhere, just dump and burn it in the big fireplace. Easy. Decent cell connection, not so private (can be seen from secondary road)but quiet enough. Several vehicles drove in but left when they saw us there
Report Check-InThe nice lady at the Chetwyn visitor center mentioned this place. Huge parking area. We decided to park there instead of going down the dirt road. Great spot!
Report Check-InHuge parking area. We didn't bother to check out the back area. Great spot!
Report Check-InGreat spot! We arrived in the dark with fairly dim headlights and parked right next to the fire ring since we couldn't see any place else to leave passing room for others. (We had the place to ourselves.) Our 8'x23' vehicle was OK there.
The road is name named Rimsmith Rd. When approaching from Dawson Creek it's an immediate left turn after the bridge. It was just starting to snow as we left.
Beavers have been cutting wood and dragging it down to the river there.
Very nice spot. Berries all around, very nice to have a swim in the river. There was only 1 other camper there. Fire ring in the middle.
Report Check-Inrelatively level spot with a boat launch access. empty tonight aside from a pickup and a boat trailer but no people. we pulled in at midnight on saturday night. ambulance with a utility trailer plus a motorcycle (hammock tent). lots of places to hang a hammock on large cottonwoods. great spot for a night.
Report Check-InExactly a year, another trip, same great spot! Due to it being significantly lower in elevation than the surrounding spots it's already snow free and easy to get to. Nobody around this time of year 😉 Good cell reception!
Report Check-InNice and quiet, just off the road. Deer and moose pellets around. No snow!
Report Check-InGood free camping spot for the night. There were 2 vehicles (SUV and a trailer) and a tent in the area, all fitted nicely with good space in between them.
Report Check-InNice and quiet. Easy drive in. “Unimproved Campsite” on our map in East Pine Provincial Park.
Report Check-InPerfect for a quickstop during route 97. On the side of eastpine river (some locals told us that's how they call the river).
