Description

Nice and super cheap place to stay!
Only 15p/p (just the entrance fee)
There is a big grassy area, a soccer field, restaurant and a waterfall.
Camping area is flat and under big trees.
Gate close at night.

Endroit sympa ou passer la nuit et surtout vraiment pas cher : seulement 15p/p (le prix de l'entrée en fait). Il y a plusieurs grandes aires gazonnées, un terrain de foot, un restaurant et une cascade.
Fermé la nuit.

There is number of ventures offering access to various cascadas in this valley, however they are more busy and more noisy due to close proximity to the road.... Including the rumbling of air breaks of trucks going down the steep section of the road.

Cascada Gloria is hidden nicely some 500m after turn of, if you follow the side road on the SE side of the bridge. Pleasant, quiet, plenty of spaces to park.

I spent two very nice days & nights there, with night security wishing me Buenas Noches. One day (Thursday) there was only one couple visiting, otherwise I was alone whole day.

Toilets were ok (5 pesos), the food was good and priced reasonably.
2 bars on Telcel.
One time entry fee of 15 pesos. (I went hiking outside the compound, but the car was still parked there).

Beside going to see cascada.....
* Trout tanks behind the restaurant suggest you can order fresh fish
* Gentlemen making masks in tiny space also behind the restaurant
* Very narrow and steep footpath & staircase / shortcut to the villege nested above the grounds. Give it a shot - ask in restaurant or WC attendent where to start.
* Stone query - all hand handeled (! No sissies there ! ). Follow the sound or folling rocks.

By the way:
* The rock face of the waterfall has numerous smaller water flows/leeks in the lowest section. Quite unique.
* The section of the dam under the waterfall where water enters the "tunnel", is the water diversion for the fish farm - trout, carp, telapia,.... located on other side of the access road for Cascada Gloria Recreativo.
