Chateau Chambord parking | Established Campground

Exactly as described - very busy on a bank holiday weekend though, we arrived at 5pm on the Saturday and had to park on the verge of the drive into the car park as the main spaces were already full - and several others arrived after us, also doing the same. Peaceful at night though once the day visitors car park had emptied, beautiful to walk around the grounds after most of the visitors had gone, and really well worth the price of the ticket to the castle the next morning - usually I prefer the gardens to the inside of a historic house but this was absolutely lovely and fascinating (esp the worth making the trip to the roof terraces to see the information gallery about the role the chateau played during WW2).

Large parking for camper vehicles. Overnight staying is allowed. No facilities, except for a sanitary dump station. Official parking for the chateau, which is definitely worth a visit (take at least half a day for this). Quiet at night, large spaces. Rate is €11 per vehicle per 24 hours for vehicles higher then about 2,1 m. €4 or €6 for smaller vehicles,depending on how close you park to the chateau.
A few km north are several car parks in the surrounding park where you can leisure and go on walks in the beautiful park.
