Mexico
The place is clean, only the suspension bridge and the restaurant are construction sites. The rest is finished and very nice. It is very quiet here.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This is a great place to escape from hot temperatures. They charged us a 100 pesos a day per person. Even our heavy not 4WD truck made it down to the grass and the river. Very dog friendly. Starlink works perfect. They have water, a cold shower and toilets. The area is big enough for a couple of oberlanders.
Report Check-InWonderful place! Just near the river. Very quiet. We were alone. 100 Pesos per person. Bathrooms are very clean. Bad telcel signal.
Report Check-Inwe enjoyed this place. very peaceful and relaxing. 100 pesos per person. starlink works well. bathrooms work and have TP. you can rent a kayak or buy a Michelada if you walk along the river under the suspension bridge. spotted goats with big ol horns.
Report Check-InA very peaceful place. It has a nice lawn here and a lot of space. Not many people here and its very quiet. Paid 100$ per person/night. It also has fireplaces and poweroutlets that we didnt use. Restrooms looked outdated, luckily we have our own in our RV. Would definitely recommend this place!
Report Check-Instill 100 peso per person
Good road from both sides
very nice and quiet place, also on weekends. beautiful meadow and you can bath in the river, even though there are signs -not to go in-.
no showers!
we stood 4 nights and the bathroom with toilets and paper never was cleaned.
we told them at the entrance, please clean the toilets- result zero-
just annoying.
Report Check-Inamazing, beautiful, a must go. 50pP Entrance pP, 50pP for Camping, so we paid for one night 2 Persons 200 P, nice river, nice, green field with trees and fire pit, some trees for shade, entrance gate high 4m, 8km from Soriana 20.472362, -99.208433 best road entrance
Report Check-InBeautiful location and grounds. Incredibly clean and well maintained. The grass is incredible. They’re currently still working on the bathroom but it looks like the bridges are done. We paid $100 ea. Children five and up are also $100 - which is a little rare based on what we’ve experienced over about 7 months in Mexico
Report Check-InLovely place in the middle of nowhere. Best grass in Mexico! Looks like they’re doing a lot of renovation and it’ll be lovely when finished. We were the only ones camping (Sunday night). Perfect for our dogs. Very safe.
CORRECTIONS: NO WI-FI OR SHOWERS.
Hook ups, but no dump
Report Check-Inlovely spot! right on the river edge, toilets are basically finished construction. The rope bridge is very close to being completed. Nice large grassy area, enough room for bug rigs. we paid 80 pesos for the night for 2 people and the van. It's dog friendly as on Saturday there were some local families camping for the night.
Highly recommended!
one of our best spots so far and great value.
Nice place for an overnight or longer. You can park next to the river on a lush and green grass. We didn’t see any shower but there are toilets and we also filled up our water tank with o hose (non portable water but we have filters). Very low or non existent telcel reception. We paid 200 pesos for one night in a van for two people.
Report Check-InA very nice quiet place directly on the river in the canyon. You can also make a small hike here. Have felt very comfortable. Only the bathroom we can not recommend.
Report Check-InThe previous description must be corrected.
The place is clean, only the suspension bridge and the restaurant are construction sites. The rest is finished and very nice. It is very quiet here.
Pros
landscape is nice
very quiet for a Friday night
Cons
works are in progress and the camping area is a mess
trash not picked up all around the camping area
Lavatories are dirty (feces still there) and dilapidated.
So what we think?
It is a shame to ask money to let people stay in a dirty mess
super endroit pour poser une tente sur une belle pelouse, également un RV; au bord de la rivière ; très bien aménagé : toilettes, électricité, barbecue, internet plein pot, eau courante ; par contre c'est très venteux
Report Check-InWhat. An. Amazing. Place!! Love it!! Other accounts accurate as reported. Had our place to ourselves on a Monday.
Report Check-InCammement tres agreable au bord de la rivière tres calme meme le dimanche avec quelques familles mexicaines. Toilettes pas top pas de services. 40 pesos la nuit. Acces tres facile
Report Check-InI was here on March 2022. There are around 8 camping "spaces" with fire pits and enough space for your car or van+ tent. The River is pretty colse and people were super respectful with regards of the noise. The entry was 40MXN per persona per day (around 2USD) and the camping night was the same fee, so youll soend around 4 USD per persona per night with access to the park and Camp site.
In the park you can do rappel, a boat tour, kayaking, ziplining, etc and the básicos are aroung 5USD each, the extreme sports around 13 USD.
IPet friendly, relatively clean WC but I didn't see any showers
Report Check-InIt is 40 pesos for day use and another 40p for overnight camping. So with two people and a van we paid 160 mxp total for one night. It is a great location on the river. We were there on a Sunday night and locals played loud music until 12am. I doubt this is normal on a weekday but just our experience. Perfect spot before Tolantango.
Report Check-InCamping is repaired. Basic toilets and electricity function again. Very beautiful place. Restaurant, shop and activities are not yet open.
Report Check-InMapped location is off just a little. Unfortunately this place got hit hard by the Sept 2021 central Mexico floods. The bathrooms are out of commission, there is a lot of debris washed up, and the grassy areas are heavily damaged. The lady at the front desk says they're just beginning repairs now, and still allowed us to camp here. The view is beautiful despite the damage and there's plenty of level ground right near the river. Because of the lack of amenities I would only recommended if your rig is self sufficient.
Report Check-InVery nice place to spend the night. Grasy srea on the river, bsic toilets. All clean and quiet.
Report Check-Insuper nice place, almost no people, water hose is there to fill up, bathrooms are cleanish and free, grass area is awesome.
telcel signal is bad but Bait shows 3-4 bars and works great.
arrived around 8 pm and guy tried to charge entrance fee (40 pesos per person) for 2 days and camping fee (another 40 per person) for 1 night. explained him there is no really reason to pay entrance fee for the day that is over and it was waived
nice grassy place with water hose, shower and toilets by the river. but be aware that, as it is a canyon, it can be crazy windy like in Patagonia.
the river isn't for swimming but for fishing (some people even come with fish nest!) but you have to pay an extra 50 pesos for fishing.
toilets on weekends are just awfully dirty, because much more Mexicans.
the river isn't noisy, peaceful nights.
80 pesos per adult (entrance + night)
kids don't pay
We love it here! We were originally just supposed to pass through here on our way to Tolantongo, but ended up sleeping two nights.
Beautiful canon and river views. Peaceful, if it’s not the weekend.
The grass is maintained well and might be the best patch of grass we’ve seen in Mexico.
Clean(ish) toilets and electrical outlets by the campsites in the back. But we parked up front right by the river.
30pp to enter and another 40pp to camp.
Highly recommended.
Report Check-InBeautiful place out in the nature. Cabanas section and Acampar section. There is no Wifi and telcel is on low level and not steady. And the place is 500m south of where it's marked. Price still 140 Pesos 2 people and Van. We enjoy every minute of 3 days here.
Report Check-InAwesome place, as described. Now $30pp to enter, and $40pp to camp overnight. Paid $140 pesos total for two people and our van. A bit expensive for what it is, but it’s beautiful and a nice way to break up the drive to the Grutas. Toilets are serviceable, sinks for washing dishes, power plugs next to the BBQ spots if you need them, but we preferred to park next to the river. Cold outdoor showers. No cell service.
Report Check-Inthis place was so beautiful! it's only 30pp entry and you can camp overnight on the big grassy fields right on the river bank overlooking the canyon, which looks so picturesque like a Mexican desert storybook. they have clean bathrooms with running toilets and water and places to plug in all along the bank next to the BBQ stations. I think they offer lots of activities such a water activities and ziplining and hiking around as well but we just stayed to camp. our favourite little hide out to camp at in all of Mexico, maybe even most of Central America. definitely a good place to stay on the way to or from grutas tolantongo. we wished we could have stayed longer.
Report Check-InIt is a place of a dream. nice grass close the river with tree for shade. the panora is great. we will explore tomorrow. We like the fresh weater. good water comminf from a hose. cristal clear water.
Report Check-InAs described but be careful of the wet grass. They had 2 hoses running 24/7 onto the grass so it would be easy to get stuck.
Report Check-InThis place is pretty great. The wide open, flat lawn right on the river is a great place to park. Bathrooms up by the office are in better condition. The GPS sort of puts you at a highway pull off but the entrance is just ahead. Electric is near the bbq stands. Perfect peace and quiet after leaving the Grutas kinda late in the day.
Report Check-InEntrance fee 30/pp, tent camping 40/pp. In the spa area 4km further entry is 100/pp and camping 40/pp.
Nice big grassy area for tents.
Suspension bridge to cross the river.
Park offers kayaking, ziplines, and all sorts of other fun daytime activities until 6pm.
Report Check-InCamping and Cabañas by the river. We made the mistake of continuing to the balneario. On the way back we noticed this is a much nicer and more quiet place, especially on weekends. 4 km before the balneario coming from ixmiquilpan.
