Description

Spacious, flat campground with clean bathrooms (cold showers). Price is 15 soles per tent per night - very reasonable! Basic playground for kids too. Covered dining tables with lighting. Definitely can recommend as a cheap alternative to the pricey hotels/hostels in the Aguas Calientes area. Conveniently, it's also on the route up to Machu Picchu if you want to walk up there instead of taking the bus.

Nice campsite at Machu Pichu. Cheapest option in town and much more peaceful. Friendly staff, great grassy area, tables and cold shower. Even electricity 24 hrs.

Good place to base yourself for visiting Machu Pichu, from here you can easily get to the starting point of the hike in 5 mins

Municipal campsite very well placed, at the foot of the steps to climb to Machu Picchu. The grassy area is spacious and pleasant. There is a space with a roof and electrical outlets to eat. Cold showers and toilets are basic. We left our tent and our bags here during the visit to Machu Picchu, it seemed safe enough. The cost is 15 SOL per tent, a man collects money is late afternoon.

Municipal campground : 15 soles per tent which includes toilets, cold showers and electricity. I think this is the cheapest option in aguas calientes.

We arrived around 7pm, put up our 2 tents in the dark, ate our sandwiches under the shelter and went to take turn in the shower (women’s was locked). My brother was lying in the tent, when suddenly he heard some animal growling and walking around. Then all of a sudden, the animal started to attack his tent, multiple times! My brother started screaming, the attack continued and eventually he managed to punch the thing when it was in the tent wall, with his fist. Finally it ran away. It bent the tent sticks badly and with its teeth/claws ripped big holes in the outer and also inner tent, it’s useless now. We immediately packed in the middle of the night and left for the other camping, where they also offer basic rooms. My brother didn’t have any food/trash in his tent, everything was in ours just next to it, which was also empty at that time. We don’t know what animal it was, what set it off, but as the campsite doesn’t have any lights/fence, we didn’t feel safe.

Still 15 soles per night per tent. Cold showers but not terribly cold :) We were the only tent there.

Cheap and reasonable for staying close to where the way up starts. Tou can see it from here. 150 mts from the bridge to walk to MP. 1.5 kms from town. Nice stuff, 15 soles per tent.

A good place to camp and visit Machu Picchu. 15 soles per tent. water was potable. There was an electrical shower head in the men's washroom but I didn't test it. So there might be actually a warm shower available.

Always 15 sol per tent per night. Close to the Macchu Pichu entrance and very cheap compare to the others solutions in Agua Calientes.
