Description

What a lovely campground! Very quiet and doesn’t seem to be used much. There are at least a dozen mostly-level sites with tables. No open fires or charcoal. Stoves only. 2 Bar LTE service. Pit toilets, no water. Lots of trees. In summer the entry gate closes at 8pm, winter 6pm.

Good place to camp in a pinch. $2 nightly. Gates are open 8am-8pm, drop box payment at front gates.

Put toilets were clean. Checked in on a Thursday and stayed one night. Only 3 other campers. Fairly level sites. Quiet and lots of birds to see. $2. No problem getting in with a 21’ trailer. Road in was fairly smooth.

Report Check-In

Isolated and peaceful. There was some train noises throughout the night but was not overly loud. Only one other camper was there. The first toilet area was locked but second was open and clean. Heard coyotes during the night and woke up to a deer grazing near our camp sight. Over all pretty cool but takes a while to get there.

$2 for one night of camping. Only one other person around for the night. Very quiet and very dark. Level spots. First pit toilet was locked, but didn’t check for another.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay for the night for $2. The first set of pit toilets weee locked, but the second ones were unlocked. Lots of flies on the ground, but otherwise clean, bring your own toilet paper.

Good roads.
Site I chose was very level.
Branches at campsites are a hindrance, so you have to choose wisely.
Only one other camper.
Trains in the area, but not loud.
Strong cell signal T-Mobile
Still $2 per night.

Report Check-In

Quiet spot for a night. Easy back-in to campsite. Only 1 other trailer and a tent camper here.

A few of observations: the night was awesome. The daytime, invasion of the flies. The vault toilets are now hardly holes in the ground they are sooooooo full. Bring your own toilet paper. Entry and camping free with certain parks passes. Still a great place as I said before. Just think boondocking, breezes, and flies, and you'll be fine.

I hate autocorrect. My post makes no sense. Proofread before post, RT! Duh!

This really is a lovely place. The moon is rising in the East. The crickets are cutting away. I hit 95° this today and want looking forward to sleeping when it's warmer. It's 8:20 pm and it is a very pleasant 75, on the way down, with a light breeze blowing. You can hear the highway noise 3 or 4 miles away, but it only adds to the sense of peaceful safety here. I'm really happy and surprised to be here. I thought it might be a hum drum night at the local Walmart. $2 a night, 7 day limit. I may stay 2 nights rather than my usual 1.

Report Check-In

Camping is $2, seven day limit. Also, a daily entrance fee of $2 per day. (See pictures for fees) Pay at the entrance gate, no payment is taken at the campground! Many of the sites have low-lying tree branches which makes it difficult for larger wider RVs. Two newer vault toilets, a trash dumpster is available, no water.

What a great spot! Gate closes 6pm in winter. We arrived late afternoon and never saw a soul. There are about 20 sites, each pretty level and each with picnic table. Clean pit toilets but bring your own TP.
Watched an amazing lightning storm in the evening. Nice sunrise. Ended up spending most of the day parked there due to severe wind warnings. Plenty of space for dog to run around until she was exhausted. $2 paid at the gate but never saw anyone.
Would definitely go back!

Report Check-In

Same as before, but no water in the Lake!

Report Check-In

Seems like it’s reopened! Gates close from 8pm to 8am. Came in around 6pm. Parks truck drove by twice. No signs saying “no camping”, thought I’d take a chance!

$2/night

Beautiful spot.

The campground is temporarily closed due to the Covid pandemic. It looks like a beautiful secluded location in a small canyon tucked beneath the prairie.
