Spot is beautiful. But they still haven’t transformed it into a campsite, doubting they will ever finish. It’s currently a big and loud restaurant. Hence we had to stay on the parking lot with a lot of locals. If they ever finish it could be beautiful, but now it was horrible and uncomfortable. Dirty bathrooms (in the restaurants) and really bad food. Utter disappointment. The lake itself is beautiful so maybe drive around it to see if you can do some wild camping. Beautuful spot on peninsula. The hotel closed, but now the restaurant is transforming into a campground. No showers yet, dirty toilets. 40.000 2 pp. Hippos in Lake and organised tours.

We camped here with our bicycles for 20000tzs, price included a tour of 1h in canoë, it's really worth it ! our guide explained us a lot of things . we were a bit afraid by the hippo colony but the night was really calm.

very friendly owner, didn't really have a spot for car camping but I stayed in the parking lot which was semi private, 25,000 pppn, food was really good, sanitary facilities very very basic but apparently new ones being built

Deal still available although not an official campsite. 40000 for the night for two people. Nice place with very friendly staff!! Nice fish from the lake just in front.

Price is the same 40000 for two campers. 30-40k for food and drink. A bit pricey for Tanzania, but great atmosphere, views, and hippos going by in the evening

Report Check-In

Very nice spot right by the lake. It's actually no campground or hotel but a restaurant (good food). But they let us put up our own tent. There are also good parking spots available, incase you come or sleep in your own car.The staff is super friendly and helpful. The showers are not built yet. The toilets are simple (hole) but clean and we took a shower in the outside area, which was fine.
20.000 for two people. 5000 pps for breakfast.
Plus you see Hippos and can go on a canoe tour.
If you are looking for a relaxed place to stay a couple of nights and bring your own accomodation, I def. recommend it.
