good for one overnight. huge parking lot. little noisy, but a safe place for free with a security guard. if toy cross the border late and don't want to drive at night, that's a good choice. We asked for permission and was no problem to stay.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Large parking lot of permit station is well lit. Bathrooms cost 5 pesos or 50 cents. After getting our permits taken care of in the early evening we made dinner here then spent the night. To say we slept would be a stretch because there was very loud highway and train noise throughout. That being said we might do this again in the future because we were able to get a very early start in the morning and missed the crowds we normally experience at the permitting office.
Report Check-InAgain, this place is on the right side of highway heading north. Easy to miss. Place was empty, but woman was super helpful, and refund should appear within a week. Never found a spot to turn in my FMM. Oh well. Drove from Los Mochis this morning at 6am and made it here by 2:15. Checkpoints went smooth, and besides the 2 local Indian stops everything went quick.
Report Check-InThe return is not very well signed coming north, pull off the highway to the right at the orange cones. The officer will then check your papers and vehicle ID. You have to walk across the highway to get your deposit and cancel your tourist visa and get your passport stamped.
