Deep pools | Warning

Went through at the end of May after rainy had season definitely started, however, the day I passed was a really good dry day with sun and there hadn’t been so much rain the days prior so the road in general wasn’t so challenging and only passed 1-2 deep pools that were easy.
However, I spoke to a person who passed exactly a week prior and another who passed two weeks prior and from the photos and conditions they reported and were completely different. So it really depends on the day.

If you’re planning to come through during rainy season and you have time, you can try to pass during a window of good weather. It can be tricky bc it’s a bit unpredictable but at least in my case there was a window of good weather and drier conditions in rainy season

The deep pools were covered the time we passed by this road.
When we ride to Lethem the road was in okay condition, bumby and with potholes on the southern part and on the north part (after the river) you have to be careful with sandy patches.
We were here in dry season but the condition of the road probably change constantly.
Locals recon the road will be all paved in two years time

3 deep pools. Fairly easy to get through, I went though on my motorbike, just don’t go too fast.

hemos hecho el camino con una citroen jumper, es época seca, en época de lluvia no creemos que hubiésemos pasado. Hemos perdido la mitad de cubre carter y las piletas a lo largo del camino fueron bajas pero con lluvias fuertes seguramente suban mucho. tardamos 3 días de georgetown a lethem

We quite a few pools along this section, proceeding North toward G-town. None were an issue for vehicle with four or more axles. Motorcycles use caution. Worse with rain.

In this area there are deep pools with 1 m o more of depth. We did in early. January when the rainy season was starting. Even pools had 100 mts lenght
