Description

Take the track off the road towards the river then follow around to the left and you'll find a huge flat area, hidden from the road with good wind protection. Quite stony but we were able to pitch a tent no problem.

This is actually quite a nice spot! Easy 2wd access, turn left for big open flat quarry area which is well hidden or right for smaller, still hidden, area with mountain or river outlook. Quiet night and only 2 km from lunar valley walk turnoff. Stream at turnofff for water. Road from Chile Chico slow and rough in 2wd!

Report Check-In

We arrived late and braved it on the quarry side with our rooftop tent. It was still so windy that we didn't sleep at all due to the noise. But it's hard to escape the wind in the valley.

There are many more pullouts and roads going down to the river on the way to Jeinimeni/Parque Patagonia that aren't marked in iOverlander. We thought some of these would serve a rooftop tent better.

Report Check-In

Big flat area (source of stone for road building). There is some wind protection near walls, but be carefull, stones are falling down all the time. Not so windy like in open valley, but still always a bit windy (too windy for roof tent) Accessible for all types of vehicles. No mobile signal.
