Description

(Pavement doesn't end now. It is all paved. Pull off to the right side if you are driving uphill) ****

We drove up here until the pavement stopped. It is an access road to the coffee fields. There is a nice flat spot for one camper. Incredible views of the farms, volcano, Boquete and the ocean. A few small trucks came by and a few indigenous on their way to the coffee fields. We visited with them, very friendly. You can hike further. Quiet night.

This is blocked off with small rocks now, implying the locals don't want vehicles taking up the turning space! We didn't stay.

Great spot! Paved all the way up. There is a new bridge next to the old one with no posted weight limit. There is room for one rig

We parked here in the evening and began cooking dinner. Some locals passed the van and we greeted them. After about a half hour (dark outside now) or so someone started shaking our van by pushing on it from behind. I stuck my head out the window but wasn't able to see anyone. Over the next few minutes it happened two more times and we never saw them and the didn't respond to us. We decided to leave. 100 meters or so down the road were a couple of drunk men, may have been them but not certain. We didn't feel super worried that something bad was going to happen and probably people just messing with us but decided to play it safe.

Great spot and easy to find (just pull off exactly when you’re at the coordinates)! We stayed here during the weekend, and didn’t see any workers in the coffee fields or much traffic. The view of the mountains and ocean in the morning are beautiful! The owner of the coffee field, Domingo, pulled up one day. He didn’t have any problem with us sleeping here.

Small area on the side of the road, next to a finca of coffee. Cool spot: fresh, no mosquitoes, and pretty quiet. We stayed 3 nights there, with a minivan and a tent. The owner, Don Domingo, came to meet us and said it was ok to stay there. There is a small river nearby.
Perfect spot of you want to stay outside of Boquete, or have easy access to the rock climbing spot.

Pull off the side of the road here. If you are going uphill it is on the right side of the road at a tight turn. It is paved past this point now, but it is easy to find. Only place with a view of the volcano and the ocean. Nice area, except for the band practice going on at a nearby structure... they lacked tone. :)

Didn't find it either. It seems maybe the pavement goes further than before? But the coordinates given were just a random spot along the road.
The drive up is well paved after Horqueta. Between Horqueta and Boquete is terrible. Much (not all) of the pavement has been removed in what looks like a front-load for an upcoming horrific patch job

Great view, just like the others said. Not super quiet though as this turn around also works as taxi drop off. In the very morning people were standing around our car waiting to get picked up. It didn't really bother us, as we were heading for an early start anyways, but could disturb sleep in lovers.

Small spot!

Unfortunately, the coordinates seem to be wrong. At least we did not find it.

Beautiful campsite, very relaxing night. Just drive all the way to the end of the asphalt, you'll see it. The road is very steep, but good quality asphalt.

The pullout where you camp is also the turnaround spot for the colectivos, we felt like we were a bit in the way, maybe keep this in mind when you park up.

We drove up here until the pavement stopped. It is an access road to the coffee fields. Don't miss the turn off on the way up, before Bajo Mono (on # 41). There is a nice flat spot for one camper, leave room for cars to turn around. Incredible views of the farms, volcano, Boquete and the ocean. A few small trucks came by and a few indigenous on their way to the coffee fields. We visited with them, very friendly. You can hike further. Quiet night.
