Something not right?

Description

3 good spots under the trees, very sheltered from the wind.
just across the river to the south of town/next to the small cemetery.
The police said it was okay to camp here, versus on the town side of the river where they said it was prohibited.

Access from the road by walking down passed an old bus or by along the beach and crossing the river.

Great for a night if you need a sheltered and free place to stay.

We did not source water from the stream or lake, but it is possible if you have a filter/treatment system.

Great spot. We did not find the trees or the bus, so we stayed directly at the beach with an incredible view. To get there from Puerto Río Tranquilo, cross the bridge heading south and then immediately turn left and walk down a dirt hill. There you will see a fence next to the cemetery. Follow the fence down to the lake.

Lugar hermoso.

Report Check-In

Since we couldn't find a way to the spot under the trees (which looks great too) we settled here. It's calm, protected from wind and sight, and there are small pits to possibly light a fire (be very careful though, I'm not sure if it's allowed).

Report Check-In

Great spot! I got here past the graveyard. Just before a curve to the right. From there is a little house and you can get to the beach. If you walk to the North (at your left) appropriately 100 m you will get to this place. Also there is a fence on the side of the graveyard entrance, but you have to climb down a steep 10 m hill (a little hard if you have a backpack, but easy without weight, also pretty convenient when going back to town).

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

Just cross the little stream down at the lake, coming from the main beach - the water isn't deep and promises a refreshing start in the morning! Take your shoes off and enjoy!
(I wouldn't recommend taking the path through the bushes...a bit thorny and left me with quite a few nasty scratches...)

Report Check-In

We couldn't reach the place walking through the bushes right after the bridge because it's all thorn bushes and really high. Jumping the fence at the old bus was still possible though. Only accessible by foot because of a really steep hill afterwards.
Place was clean and has really good wind and rain protection. Awesome free place in Tranquilo!

Report Check-In

The entrance near the bus is closed now, but it is still easy to reach the place on foot: turn left immediately after the bridge and before the cemetery and go through the labyrinth of tall grass. The place is great, sheltered from the wind and with an ccess to the lake.
