Beautiful and quiet spot in walking distance to the lake. 9km gravel road to get up there, would only recommend with a high clearance vehicle.
Report Check-InNice spot. Although sites aren’t on the lake, they’re close enough with some great spots to relax. No facilities. Although there were little Mazdas here, I wouldn’t recommend low 2wd if you want to keep your exhaust. Good spot if you’re looking for somewhere nice after Van but before Whistler
Report Check-InGreat little lake and campsite. 7 spots with fire rings and 5 of the spots have tent squares(flat site). Hidden gem just road could be tough for low clearance vehicles.
Hiking trails are closed currently due to aggressive grizzly in area.
Clean, please keep it this way.
Report Check-InNice place but, a serious 4x4 road to get in. There are many deep stream cuts across the road which could catch the exhaust or other bits on a standard ground clearance vehicle. There is a pit toilet but, I did not see any water faucets so, bring your own. If you like to paddle the lake looks nice.
Report Check-InBeautiful lake. Good for a paddle. Busy on the weekend with lots of day use boaters. Look out for bears (both brown and black). It’s for real.
Report Check-InCrazy beautiful lake, with a couple of tent spots and parking close to the water, and a couple more drive in sites a little further back. Gets super super busy and overrun at weekends in the summertime but during the week is still pretty quiet. There are a number of other unofficial spaces where people have parked / camped on the road coming in, a little further from the water. However, the park ranger came around chatting to everyone when we were there and told everyone off for being anywhere other than official spaces (beware there are no signs so it’s not easy to know which are designated places...). She was pretty hostile! and the further back you get from the lake the more unbearable the bugs. Road up is rough, def need high clearance, ideally 4wd but at this time of year it’s do-able if you take your time and don’t care about your paintwork! Amazing place if you can get a space by the water :)
Report Check-InTons of snow on the last few km - we could not get through with our 4WD Durango and had to turn back after almost getting stuck.
The road up there is rough, cross ditched and steep. Definitely higher clearance vehicle needed.
This place is in wrong location - it is located at 50.19172, -123.18298
Report Check-InWow what en awesome place, the lake is abolutely beautiful and it's barely anybody up here. The road was easily doable by the time I was here in mid June, maybe it changes in other seasons. So do not let you discourage and give it a shot.
Report Check-InLast 4km of the road still covered in snow, lake still under ice. Snow chains and high clarence advisable.
Report Check-InNice free campground near the lake, vert quiet, surround with wilderness. some hiking trail, and great spot to kayak.
Sure you need high clearance to go, hard for regular car or big RV. no problem with our 4x4 van.
Beautiful sites by the lake. The road isn't the easiest but take it very slow then you're fine. We were happy having high clearance, but we saw some just normal cars up there. 4wd isn't necessary.
Report Check-InAwesome place nice view of the lake. You definitely need a vehicle with high clearance and 4wd helps.
Report Check-InNever made it the road was so bad and steep. We did a U turn not even half way there. You need AWD and a good suspension. It made for à skoolie...
