Description

Amazing Geology. We were only one of two camping at the time. $10 fee (NPS), Fire pits, but did not use. zero cell but that is the point of this area. Well maintained campsite. Rugged area, but worth the time to explore. Long, beautiful drive in from the access point (Tulelake).

This is called the Indian Well Campground. During the winter only loop A is open (12 spots), so it can get busy even then. Nice bathrooms, no running water in winter. No pets on trails (only campground area and roads). Exploring the lava tube caves is awesome!

stayed 2 nights. nice campground. we were in spot A6 perfect for our truck camper. bathrooms with sinks and running water. also chlorinated water in campground. everywhere very clean. caves are amazing to visit. would camp again. $5 per night senior rate.

Stayed here last night in Silverado with topper. Came in after dark as we were going to stay near Klamath Falls but the air quality was poor. Smooth asphalt drive in, $10 camping fee. About half the B sites were filled but everyone was pretty quiet. Two sites with a campfire was surprising but I guess it's only prohibited with very high fire danger. Nice bathrooms with sinks, a few water spigots around the campground. I'd stay here again, but would probably disperse camp if we got here earlier. 4/5 for us because the sites were pretty open, but that's nothing against the campground, just our preference.

We took site B7 and our 27 foot Class C fits fine and it’s level. $5 with senior pass.

Spent two nights here, Friday and Saturday, campground was packed. Nice views and central location for the park and caves.

This was such a nice campground! It’s a first-come-first-serve style campground and it’s still $10 as of 10/23/22. It was very quiet there, not many people at the National Monument at all and even fewer camping there. We were just stopping through on our way north, and decided to stay here. Only thing I would say is this time of year, it gets VERY cold up there. Below freezing for sure. My friend and I are car camping, not van camping, so we don’t really have a good heating system we can run all night. Otherwise, this spot is absolutely beautiful. We even saw some deer around sunset!

Was a great place, but just driving through so didn’t hike anywhere in the monument. Campgrounds clean, parking spots tight but luckily we were able to have no near neighbors by our site this late in season. America the beautiful pass got us into park free, and half off of $10 camp fee.

Lovely and spotless. Still $10/night. Easily filled out tank with water from the handicap spot in A- loop. The others didn’t have the right threaded connection.
The lava tubes were amazing! Free flashlights to borrow at visitors Center

Very nice Campground, sites are very close to each other, we took B7, where you feel a little bit "isolate". Bin, put toilet, water! Price still 10$ per night. Self pay station. Was very quite. Tables and fire pit.

Small sites w no privacy in loop A. Loop B was closed. Arrived at 5pm and all but 1 decent site was taken. ❤️

First come, first serve campground in Lava Beds National Monument. Sites are spaces out and various sizes. Paved roads getting in (in great condition) and easy to navigate. $10/night. Nice bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks! Accessible sizes and separate bathroom. Water available. Signs for wasps at some sites. Quiet!

Nice campground but half the sites had burned in the fire in July 2020. The structures (bathrooms, Visitor’s Center, etc...) were protected, but the lower half of sites show signs of the fire. This will pass with time, but some are closed, just a few. All of B loop is open and the upper numbers tend to have less wind.

B23, pictured here with iPad in foreground, is great for vans as it has a level parking spot with space. It looks like it has an electrical box but there is a lock on that (maybe just for charging the cart the Park Service uses). Otherwise, there are plenty of water pumps and garbage/recycling. All the ones I used had new bags and were clean.

As it is after Labor Day, there are only about six other people camping here and there is a camp host.

Site B3 also has a large enough space for a longer van and is flat.

Very cool campground. Not the best layout for bigger rigs, but perfect for my van #555. Paved loop roads, one way travel only, many trash receptacles and potable water spigots. The Lava Beds is an amazing sight. And this campground is right in the middle of it. A very long access roadbif you enter the park from the north side. But the drive is so worth it, otherworldly landsacape with tons of hiking trails, caves, and wildlife over looks. I paid $10 despite have my America the Beautiful pass which could have given me 50% off, I only had a $10 bill. Highly recommended, both the campground and the park.
