Something not right?

Description

Beautiful spot next to a calm river. There are some bbq places, but the place looks very abandoned. during the day some locals come to swim, but 50 meters upriver there is nobody. The road from the Mexican border is fine, but after 10k there is a turnoff to Playa Grande and Isquixchis. That one is the toughest we ever did. We came from Isquixchis, pushing our bikes 4,5 hours to cover 15km.

Latest Check-Ins

This isn't public land, it belongs to the community - I mentioned that I was planning to stay there at the iOverlander-marked tienda in Yalambojoch and the friendly guy made a phone call to get permission/alert the caretaker that I would be staying. They said I was very welcome.

Hard to access though; muddy enough to be skidding around on the way in (October, rainy season!) and a bit treacherous with steep areas and a ditch. Made it after some manoeuvring but I wasn't sure I'd make it out again! Definitely not suitable for anything bigger than an Astro/Combi type size I would say, unless you're content to camp out on the roadside. As it was within the gate I was in immediate view of the traffic coming from both directions, lots of curious looks!
