Latest Check-Ins

I was at this place and everything is the same.

Report Check-In

The best place to stay in Uvita.
Waking up with the monkeys above your tent, close to the beach and the friendliest owner.
6$/night

Report Check-In

Nice camping with very good location, near the beach, etc…

Only thing is the toilet and shower, they clean them often but they are old and very very very basic. But if you drove to Costa Rica, you kinda are used to this lol

Report Check-In

We stayed here in our 4x4 for 2 nights, traveled to the osa then returned again for another 2 night stay. Luis and his wife are very friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Beach access is perfect: a short little walk behind the property. There are showers, toilets, and potable water. They offer a laundry service at a very fair price (i had my laundry done for three times Luis’s price in drake bay). One day i got stung by a massive jellyfish and was having scary complications (muscle spasms, respiratory problems, and chest pain) and Luis rushed me to the urgent care free of charge. Our last night we decided to stay in one of their rooms which is furnished with a shower, AC, television, and a shared kitchen for $45 US/night. You can pay when you leave and it was $6 US/night. They also have a very friendly dog named Blackie. This place is fun, comfortable, welcoming, and safe. Its also within walking distance to an ice cream shop, restaurants, and a market.

Report Check-In

Lovely quiet campsite with very friendly and helpful owner. Close to the beach, 2 km from the Evita “whale tail) beach. A few local eateries nearby. Cheap, tidy and clean.

Report Check-In

Lovely backyard camping spot with very friendly owner. 3000 pp/pn. Very cute baby cat and friendly dog.
Wifi, power outlets, drinking water, cold shower and toilets. Basic but usable!
Direct access to beach and walking distance to Maxi Pali.
It‘s possible to walk from here to the Marino Ballena NP via the beach to skip entrance fee (6$).

Report Check-In

small campsite, but we managed to get our 36 ft RV into a spot, right near the beach, basic cold showers and toilets,

Report Check-In

Nice place, toilets and showers basics and not in so good conditions but overall fine. 1m walk to Uvita beach. Price paid: 3'000 colones per person per night.

Report Check-In

We spent 3 nights in this wonderful place instead of the planned one. Luis is super nice and helpful! He organized a whale watching tour for us that was half as expensive as anything we found on the internet and even drove us to the meeting point in the morning. The tour was great! We saw 8 humpback whales! At the campsite you can see Macaws parrots and toucans and there is a direct and FREE access to the beach of the Marino Ballena National Park. The beach is beautiful and great for swimming.
The sanitary facilities are old and very simple, but Luis cleans them every morning!
We paid 3'000C/p.

PS: It's worth getting here earlier, the campsite was full every night!

Report Check-In

Nice campground close to the beach. Basic but clean facilities. Not expensive. Do a whale watching tour, the owner knows a good tour operator. Great experience!

Report Check-In

Stayed here twice, either side of a detour to Bahia Drake via Sierpe. Great location near the free part of the beach. Birds, peaceful location. Facilities are basic.

Report Check-In

Spent a couple of nights here with our rooftop tent, and were well looked after by easygoing Luis. It’s about half the price (per person) of other campsites in the area, and offers basic facilities as well as direct access a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Plenty of wildlife about, with macaws and toucans flying about. Coconuts for days. Keep an eye out for iguanas falling from the trees though!

Report Check-In

One of the best camping I’ve ever stayed in my entire life.
The experience of sharing with the owner, getting to know their life story, helpful tips to get around Costa Rica, the sensitivity and care on everything they do is just beautiful.

The place itself is like a childhood backyard! The place is clean, it has clean water, bathrooms and showers. It’s well placed. We are coming back

Report Check-In

Nice campsite with simple but adequate facilities. The location near the beach is awesome.

Report Check-In

We loved this place. Walked to the whale tail, ate dinner walking distance from the campsite, and had the beach under the stars to ourselves. A great spot.

Report Check-In

for 3000 pp is decent grassy „parking lot“ camping with or without shade plus facilities
>>> but the beeest feature is that you can walk to the NP beach for free and your car is on safe ground meanwhile you are soaking in the beautiful nature with less peeps

Report Check-In

Luis is a very helpful person. The campsite is sufficiently equipped. We felt great here and would definitely come back. The location is amazing. You can enter the park thru the camp ;)

Report Check-In

Nice owner, basic toilets and showers. Free acces to the beach in the national park. A lot of ara's flying around and howlermonkeys in the threes.

Report Check-In

Good place, quiet during night, lot of birds. Basic bathroom but super clean with tp and soap. Nice owner, you can enter the beach for free. Good WiFi. 3000crc/ppn. Recommended.

Report Check-In

Basic but nice place, near beach (and free access to the NP). Nice owner. The spaces under the trees are nicest but have a risk of branches falling down. We parked on the grass.

Report Check-In

stayed here for 4 nights with a rooftop tent. as said, free accsess to the beach. also spotted tucans. the owner louis is very nice and helpeful. cleans the bathrooms and showera twice a day. at the moment there is also a tourguide henry living on the campground. if you can, get a kayak tour with him. we had him as a privat guide and it was one of the best tours we did in our whole trip. he also does whalewatching tours and caño island snorkling tours. try to also book other trips, that he does not directely offer trough him, as he might get you a better price, since he knowa every agency here. for example we booked corcovado trough him. he made sure we had a pickup offered for free. oh and we can highly recommend the mexican restaurant at the end of the street (7min walk).

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night with a rooftoptent. There is a toilet and a shower, not great but it works.

Very nice spot between the trees, we even saw a tucan! Would stay here again.

Only 3000pp for one night.

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights, and saw from all the campings we stayed at the most animals. Elvis the owner is very wekcoming, friendly and helpful. The toilet/showers are basic but clean.

Report Check-In

6000c for 2 per night. Amazing host. You have access to Marino Ballena NP directly from camp, so you get free entrance to the whale tail (1hr walk). We saw macaws flying by in the morning.

Report Check-In

We spent 2 quite nights here 9000ć/ night with our 2 children (6&12). Beautiful site and beach (for free) with macaws. Access to NP. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Luis was very friendly and nice. The spot is full of ants, so be careful. The facilities aren’t so nice. Functional but not so clean. For one night ok, but for a longer stay I would choose another campsite.
The location is cool, because of the animals that are all around in the threes.
We payed COL 6.000 for 2 people in a rooftop tent.

Report Check-In

Economic and very pleasant place for 2 beautiful nights! it has a large space where people can live together camping next to airbnb type cabins. Bathrooms and shower are functional. Very fast Wifi. The host Luis was very kind with us, guiding us in the place. Highly recommended just 3 min to the Uvita Beach and Marino Ballena National Park

Report Check-In

Luis is the most friendliest guy !
From the campsite you can walk to the beach and the location is so quite and peaceful !

Sleeping with the sounds of the nature on the background.

Had a great night here, toilets and showers are basic but that’s all you need :)

Report Check-In

possibly the best place here. 3000 per person, good WiFi, incl. electricity and drinking water. Luis the boss is constantly sweeping, cleaning and tidying up. We were here 6 nights. It's just stupid that the beach costs almost $7 to enter and can only be paid for with a card. However, the fence of the national park ends behind Luis property, which means you can easily get to the beach. you just have to be careful that the national park staff doesn't catch you. So go swimming and back again. By the way, we saw macaws and toucans. very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Luis was a great host and this spot has everything we needed after a week of wild camping in Costa Rica. We refilled our water tanks with potable water, plugged in to recharge our batteries (Luis arranged a long plug from the cabanas), took cool showers and accessed the fast and fairly reliable wifi (it comes and goes). Right next to the national park and Luis can tell you the low tide timings if you want to walk down to see the whale tail. Bathrooms and showers are very simple but clean. 3000c for each adult and 1000c for child

Report Check-In

Place still as described, everything is very basic but it works.

Report Check-In

Douches froides, toilettes propres, eau potable disponible, beaucoup d'animaux autour. Très tranquille!
3000 c par adulte et 1000 par enfant.

Very well located to access the ballena park for free by the beach. The whale tail is a mere 40 minute walk.
Cold showers, clean toilets, drinking water available, lots of animals around. Very calm!
3000 c per adult and 1000 per child.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Nice camping with lots of space and direct access to the wonderful beach!
The owner is very friendly and welcoming.
3000pp/pn, showers, toilet, drinking water and electricity if you need it

Report Check-In

All as described. Some people are passing through here, as it is possible to access the beach here for free, however this didn’t disturb at all. To access the beach you have to search for the small open gap in the fence near a low palm tree.

Report Check-In

We arrived around 6pm, and could park the 4x4 where we wanted. The owner, Luis, bring us electricity, light and plugs. There is basic showers and toilets. Your can hang your clothes to dry them. Very quiet. If you need something, just ask Luis and he will help you. 3000 pp/pn so pretty cheap. A good solution close to a National park

Report Check-In

Luis the owner is so nice. Always helping you to feel the most comfortable as possible.
The place is few meters away from the beach. There are toilets and showers, electricity
They can clean your laundry.

Report Check-In

As described before: really friendly and helpful owner, free access to the beach! There are toilets and showers, some big iguanas and lots of birds. 3000 c/pers/night. Very quiet, only sounds of the sea and animals at night

Report Check-In

As previously described, very friendly host! Doesn’t speak English very well, although he was very cute and used a translator with us (our fault for not learning Spanish).
We paid 5 dollars per night per person.
Beach is a 2 minute walk away and free access to the national park, if you fancy the walk along the beach.
Small Supermarket is just up the road, as well as a nice Mexican restaurant that we tried and recommend.

Report Check-In

nice small and quiet camp site with free access to the beautiful beach (they normally charge a 6 $ fee for the "natural park".
good internet and a sympathetic owner.
I paid just 5 $ a night.
very worth!

Report Check-In

Like the precedent descriptions, the owner is so nice! We were there for two nights (in van) and we had bathrooms, shower, light, we refilled the water for the van’s sink.
Free acces to the park Ballena

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

It' a cute, little campground with good wifi, drinking water and power, close to the beach. Luis, the owner, made us feel at home. We've seen tucanos, iguanas, guacamayas and many other birds. There is a little supermarket just around the corner. The price is 12000c per night for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Decent size level grassy are with shade in some areas. House of the owner is right across. They are super nice and have kids which was fun for our son. Some bungalows available to rent across from the camping area. Basic bathrooms but all you need. Water fill up with great pressure and some of the most consistent wifi we've seen in CR. Walking distance to the beach and NP. We didn't quite understand whether or not we needed to pay. There is a pay station but we walked right up to the beach from the campground and noone said anything...

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Weren't sure about staying in Uvita, but spent two nights here and loved it. Very peaceful and Luis and his family are very nice. We parked near the bathroom/sink area and it was level and WIFI worked great. We walked into the national park from the campground and the beach and whale tail are gorgeous! Park ranger stopped us one day and said we weren't meant to be crossing through to the beach, but after explaining the rules showed us a sloth he just found that was up in the tree above us. Highly recommend this place. We enjoyed it thoroughly!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 2 nights. really nice owners. toilets and showers cleaned every day. free access to marine ballena beach from the camping.

Just checked in. The owner is super nice. He found another camper to help because I have no Spanish.
Nice little campground. You can walk into the National park from the campground. Electricity, strong wifi, showers and bathroom. 3,000 calones per person per night. Quiet and peaceful. Hose to fill your water container with potable water.

Report Check-In

Nice little camping spot with back entrance to the beach. The owner Luis is very kind and helpful. There are simple bathrooms with showers and a sink to wash up. It’s not an isolated camping experience but nice and easy and very quiet. A good place to work out any kinks in your rig before heading out of town.

Einfach aber sauber.

Great camp, hard to find but worth it. Going to playa chaman, 15 m before camping chaman. Take a left dirt road (sign hidden at the entrance of the dirt road). Campground 50m down the road. Owner super friendly. Cut green coconut for us. Showed and toilet clean. Walk to beach to swim. Macaws in the tree. Totally a great stop

Great place as described.
Luis is kind and helpful
Really recommended

Report Check-In

After three days of wild camping, it was a great break since it is not expensive (10$, one rooftop tent, two people).
The entrance is quite hidden but the location point is very accurate.
Toilets shower clean water wifi and electricity.
You can find holes in the barrier along the beach if you don't want to pay. If not it's 6$/person.
You can have a 1:30 walk on the beach to reach the whale tail, and from there you can distinguish wales (take a longview if you have, and follow the tourist boats harassing them).
Chill place.

Report Check-In

As described, basic but friendly, really close to the beach.
Good wifi and a decent store within walking distance. Potable water.
I was given two tarps, one for under and one for over my tent! A really nice place

Report Check-In

Simple but perfectly nice. All we need is here and clean. Luis is super helpful. Price is the same. WiFi was avg, but it could have been the rain... They’ve got rooms for rent also.

Report Check-In

As described. We had two nights with a 24 feet. Luis the owner is adorable and does everything to stay the pleasure. The price is always 3000 colónes per day and per person. WiFi is really very good.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot close to the beach with all facilities you need (shower and toilets). We were the only one camping (roof tent on our 4x4) but the airbnb were rented and look very nice in the containers :). The owner speaks only Spanish and showed how to go the Marino Ballena (3kms to walk and this is free). This is very quiet and well located.
We paid 3000 colones pp.

Report Check-In

It is calm place with open place of a big garden. The owner is putting it together - water, toilets and showers. During our 3 night stay we could use kitchen (without cooker) from rooms rent by airbnb.
We paid 3k CRC per person older than 5. The owner is very nice but speaks no english.
