We actually only stayed for a swim and picnic. Hot but quiet. pleasant stop

Report Check-In

technically called fishermans beach campground
pros: free, very very clean pit toilets, private, picnic tables and fire rings (some tables have shaded awnings) beautiful view of the lake
cons: Cow poop and ant hills everywhere (and I mean everywhere). if those aren't deal breakers, this is a good spot. not our favorite place to have stayed. not sure if the other two northern campgrounds (tamarisk point and north campground) are also free but could be worth checking out if this isn't your vibe.

plenty of room. and of birds and fish! no road noise.

Stay at Otter Creek 78 - very nice spot. Big rigs not a problem. Spent a few days here. Paddle boarded the reservoir. Arrived Friday night, plenty of open spots. Suppose to be great fishing (brown & rainbow trout).

Report Check-In

Just as described! There were a few designated camping areas, each with a picnic table, fire pit, and some had shade cover.

Beautiful views in the morning and complete privacy. Highly recommend.

It’s relatively far away from Highway 62 and we didn’t hear any noise in the camper. There are fire rings, picnic tables and pit toilets. We’re the only camper tonight.

Report Check-In

Plenty of spots available late in the day on a Saturday. Quiet despite being near the road. We pulled into Otter Creek 74 Rd and then went to the north. No problem with our 24' class C. No Verizon signal.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot by the lake. Plenty of room for any size and easy to access. Pit toilets were super clean. Some broken glass around our site but otherwise pretty clean. No ATT service. People came through to fish and a few on ATVs during the day but super quiet at night! There were a ton of mosquitos- don’t forget bug spray!

Report Check-In

To be clear, this check-in is speaking of Otter Creek STATE PARK, which is the one you pass naturally when traveling between Bryce and Capital Reef. The check-in that created this coordinate seems to be speaking of another campground because there is no #74 here at the state park. $25-40 are the current rates in 2022. $25 for gravel/tent, $30 for small asphalt spot with a table and wind shelter. $40 for the sites next to lake. Super bare and basic gravel and asphalt lot. All of the nice, plumbed bathrooms are locked and the pit toilets are gross and low on TP but the reservoir itself is very nice with some private lots along it. Good almost-halfway spot between Bryce and Capital Reef. Got here at dusk and left early so no good photos! Big mosquitos at dusk. Watch for cows on the road in this area.

Report Check-In

Decent free spots for the night. Pit toilets with TP are nice if you don't have your own. A couple sites have covered picnic tables. As mentioned by others, no cell service. Sites are not level as everything slopes towards the lake.

Note there are 3-4 other campground sites to the north of here along the shore (Tamarisk Point, North Point CG), some with toilets, some without. Zooming in on Google Maps will show them. Or just follow any of the many roads off the highway leading to the lake. You could also drive right onto the beach but be careful and watch for soft spots early in the season or after rains.

Keep these places clean. There are no trash bins so pack your garbage out with you.

I checked this site out, lots of room and nice views of the lake. But the biggest disappointment was NO cell signal on Verizon. I even drove around and still found nothing, even in the small town of Antimony. Nice dump & water station at the State Park for $10, easy to get into even with a big rig towing.
