Description
Platjan Lodge now also has 4x campsites, each with their own ablution. Not on the Limpopo river though, with power and running warm water. Overlanding vehicles (trucks) could have access issues to the camp.
Platjan Lodge offers a wide selection of accommodation, only a short drive from the Platjan border post to Botswana. Here guests can stay in lovely private chalets, all fully equipped for self-catering.
The accommodation is available in the Three Bedroom Chalets, Pool facing Rooms and Garden Cottage. The units are all comfortably furnished with modern facilities and fully equipped kitchens. Each unit has a private braai area and views of the gardens, river or pool.
On-site facilities include a restaurant, bar and swimming pool.

We were totally disappointed. We were here 10 months ago and everything was perfect.
Today it was not possible to go to the campsite because the small bridge to arrive to the campsite was broken. So they proposed to us to stay in the garden, at some meters of the reception and the restaurant.
Toilet and shower available, but no water tap, no light, no electricity point, no garbage bins, noise from the bar & restaurant... and for the same price!!!
10 months ago we paid 200R per place plus 50R per person. Now it is 200R per person, and even if they proposed not the official campsite the price was the same.
We left. It is a pity.
Great campsite with awesome value for your money. R150/pppn and you get it all: private ablution, free firewood, hand towel, braai grid, dishwashing equipment (towel, sponges, washing liquid), hot water donkey shower. Everything very clean and neat. Very good and moderately priced food in the restaurant, too. Friendly owner. We were there only for one night when coming from BW, but would’ve liked to stay longer. Only minus from the taxidermy that’s all over at the bar etc., but that’s just smth that we don’t personally fancy so much.
Report Check-InThis campsite has it all: flat, grassy pitches, each with their own modern, private ablution, sink for dishwashing, braai place, natural shade, donkey boiler which is kept hot twice daily with friendly service of ground staff, free fire and braai wood, electricity points and lights. ZAR200 per pitch pn, ZAR50 pppn, children half price. Great value all round. No cell or WiFi comms at camp, but fast WiFi and Vodacom connection at resturant/bar. No MTN anywhere. ZAR50 per load for machine washing clothes and ZAR20 per bag of ice from the bar. Great stop over for a few nights from/to Botswana or as a go between visiting Mapungubwe NP for the day (restocking with supplies and fuel at Alldays) and then traversing south towards Marakele NP. Highly recommend!
