Latest Check-Ins

We pulled into Moab around dinner time and didn’t want to spend time looking for free BLM sites. This was close to town and sites were nice. Decent ATT cell service!

Report Check-In

Great spot for a couple of nights, relatively close to arches and canyonlands. Only has a pit toilet but garbage disposal and water can be found in when driving into town (recycle center and town park with a spigot).

Little bit of noise from people driving the 4x4 track that runs right over the hills that circle the campground.

Excellent campground - only $15 per night with open air pit toilets, beautiful surroundings, and easy access to great mountain biking. We assumed we wouldn't be able to find a spot on a spring Saturday but we drove in around 11am and the guy at the booth invited us to drive around because lots of folks would be checking out. We immediately found at least 4 open sites! We easily parked our 16 foot camper and car. Note - no drinking water or showers here.

Besides Alcove, there are three other campgrounds here. More than 100 sites total, no electric, no water, no dump. Price is the best one in Moab area: 15 bucks a night. Accept credit cards at the gate, accept dogs, is quiet at night, picnic table and firepit. Loops C and D have better T-Mobile service, was able to hotspot fine with my phone. 9 mins from town.

Report Check-In

Great place! Had enough T-Mobile for regular phone stuff (social media and whatnot) and AT&T for work (regular video calls that went just fine). Definitely a lot of OHV traffic, but other than that gorgeous views, just outside of town, and cheap enough. Also forever grateful that they reimbursed me as I was heading out for my unused nights (paid for 6 but had to leave after 2 due to weather). 9.8/10, minus .2 for the loud traffic

Easy self check in $15 a night. Rolled up late on a Sunday and there were a decent amount of spots available. Basic. Outdoor pit toilet is not too bad .
Beautiful stars at night!

Alcove / SandFlats: Alcove is only one of the multiple areas you can choose in the Sand Flats. Very very beautiful! I will never forget!

It can get very hot (we were there in August with no shade 38 celcius) and you are very exposed to the sun so, be careful about that. Pit toilets, no water. Otherwise, enjoy the sunrise and the sunset, and also the MTB Slickrock ride.

Pretty much free on a midweek night, $15 per car, have your cash ready for the envelope. Great place to be early in Arches NP.

Only one campground marked here, but there are (at least) 4 areas to camp within a short distance of the Slick Rock trailhead. I stayed in the D area. There was a sign that said 25 foot limit for vehicles. Stayed in my van. It was $15/night including the day use fee. Site had a picnic table and a fire ring. 2 pit toilets. Not much else. Cell service worked pretty well (I use T-mobile). 2 minute bike ride to the Slick Rock trailhead.

Part of Sand Flats Recreation Area, $15/day. Probably would move on to BLM land if it was not late and raining.

My husband and I stayed in one of the many spots at this site! It costs $15 to camp overnight. It was gorgeous with beautiful views. They have a “quiet time” starting at 10pm which we appreciated. Lots of trails around! Had a fire pit, picnic table, and pretty flat sites. We stayed in our rooftop tent on our Jeep Gladiator. It was perfect and a great find!
