zphally | Great place to spend a night! Well lit city park with restrooms and picnic tables. We were only ones there and felt safe. Restrooms were closed for winter but city provided a very clean porta potty. The park is nothing special but it’s right off 40 and it’s 10x better than a rest stop. Also, the gas station up the street has fantastic Indian food. |

mollyvmcglynn | $20 with no power but open, not too many people. We encountered only the nicest of campers, really friendly environment. Walkable to the beach and the old fort. Really clean bathrooms. Fire pits and picnic tables at all sites. |

living.it.right | Nice place to stay for a night or two. There are bathrooms across the street by the tennis courts and a water hook-up, but you will need a long hose to reach. |

jcow1den | This was a quick and easy exit off the highway. I was tired from driving all day and needed a place to stop and rest for the night. There was a semi truck parked across the way and we still had plenty of room to park away from the truck. The abandoned stores were neat looking at night. |

ExplorerSouls.com | We found this place at the lake with nice views. We didnt stayed overnight but its a perfect spot. Exactly in front of the lake, hidden from the street.
Its a small gravel road that leaves the lake road (no 4wd needed). Follow it to the end, around 300 meters. Theres this beautiful open space. (check added photos). A few mosquitos. Morning sun and pretty quiet when we were there during the week. Free and open WiFi from the local town reaches this place. In the evening we had slow speed. But its faster during morning hours and afternoon. |

khavns98 | Very convenient spot for an overnight with great cell service (T-Mobile). Shared the spot with some truck drivers and didn't have any issues. There's just highway noise, but with earplugs took care of that |

none | Nice and clean area. We were the only campers there. 60/pesos per person for tent camping. 24 hour guards and restrooms. Street dogs were barking quite loud at times during the night, but otherwise nice stay. Decent breakfast in the morning at the on-site restaurant. 45 minute hike to the ruins. |

bigyearcoffee.com | Lovely quiet Oasis in the desert. Short distance to Santa Elena canyon water access and other Big Bend hiking trails. There is one drinking water spigot but the pressure and hookup make it impossible to fill anything more than a few water bottles. Non potable water is available at multiple spigots through the campground. Very clean pit toilets. Reservations are currently required due to covid at recreation.gov. |

Jordan | I LOVED this spot. Super precarious - especially if you have a large tent or truck and need to walk around like I did. Plan your bathroom route before bed so you don’t slip...

Gibraltar Road Pullout | 34.48139, -119.68496 | |
hbaird003 | Decent spot for a night. Overlooks the coast. Besides the road noise from the highway, this spot is fairly quiet. I did not find any “no overnight parking” signs. There are several pull-outs and a handful of other vans/RVs were here so I felt safe. One thing to note: This location gets very dark at night. Helps keep the location secluded though. |

sinchi53 | I stayed 3 nights with my van. A bit lonely in pandemia times. Anyway, it is not true that cars are not welcome. It is still 4000 pesos per person, but because of the van, the owner asked 5000. Hot showers. For me it was a great site with view over the ocean. The owner is friendly and knows a lot about the island. I recommend. |
