Yes and no. Delicious empanadas, 600 ARS each but really small! Tamal 1500 ARS really small too. See attached pictures. For almost 5000 ARS I was still hungry.

Our second time staying here. Beautiful view of the water.
Trucks can be a little noisy but it’s not bad.
We checked out Brattleboro Retreat Tower in the morning. Very cool!
We will definitely stay here again in the future. ⭐️

Large gravel lot (not paved) a couple hundred yards from I-70. Exit 175, turn south, and go a short distance to the first left, and the lot is right there—it was easy for us to find, even in the dark. This appears to be an OHV staging area on the edge of a wide swath of BLM land. The surface seems solid, at least on the west side, and I wouldn't worry too much about it when it rains. Little used; our 23' van was the only rig there overnight on a Tuesday night in April, though a semi arrived in the morning. The freeway is far enough that, though you can hear it, it's very muted. There's also a railroad track on the other side of the freeway, and a couple of trains did pass and blow their horns at the crossing. Strong Verizon signal. No other services. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and amazing starry nights.

I staid the night here without any problems. was nice not having people around. slight traffic noise and I heard a mule hollering in the morning. I'm traveling in a minivan and it wasn't difficult to access dry, at least.

signs up saying no parking overnight. there was already 1 TT when I got there. I parked my car at the back end of the lot and was not bothered. I was there before closing and left after opening

Stayed here on a weekday. Nice flat open BLM land, plenty of space for RV and cars. Got a quiet and peaceful night of sleep. T-Mobile has 2 bars of 5G signal (but could be inconsistent).

Pretty close to the interstate without a way to park behind the building. Nice and flat designated RV spots and plenty of room for parking. one of the few cracker barrels we have noticed where the RV spots are not adjacent to the dumpsters, which makes it quieter in the early morning.

Plenty of guides are around here. The main viewpoint is just 20m away, and it's free to visit without a guide. But if you want to go down to the bottom, they try to make you pay. They asked for 20k for a guided walk, then 10k if I go alone, but I negotiated down to 2k. One guide even came along for free, but the trail was a bit tricky, so it was good to have him. In the end, I paid him 1k. The guides wear the same uniform promoting tourism in Kalandula and are trying to develop it as a paid attraction, so it may not be easy to avoid everything.

still possible. reasonable quiet at night. safe.but sooo much trash, especially at the part where you would be out of sight. also clearly a public toilet there . And lots of dogpoop everywhere. cellphone reception with Entel. room for 3 maybe 4' vans. The next day we saw the place slightly up the road called riverside and it looked better.

This place is great, 50/30/20 amp clean power. Dump station with flush water. Potable water by the restrooms. We dumped then circled around and filled the fresh tank then parked. The back row is big rig friendly. We pulled in and did not unhook the Jeep. Down side is there is an active train track across the street with a road crossing one block away. this results in the train horn for all train crossings. It did not bother us as I kind of like the trains. The park is nice and has a good walking trail around it. Went to the grocery store and took in a local baseball game. Can't get much better then that. Thanks Lamar, great job.

Dry camping is now $20. We didn't ask about the cost of Hookups.

The restaurant is shut down. That might be a seasonal thing.

The wifi is good.

The police were real and asked for 1k. I declined because it wasn't an official fee, and then he let me go.
At another police checkpoint near the junction from the highway, a drunk guy stopped us and asked for 500, but the police let us leave immediately.

We slept 1 night here, quiet forest with lot of shadow, nice houses around. 2 guards working there said that was "dangerous place" but we didn't care. We slept with our van doors open because of the heat, nothing happened.

Quite a few little spots to pull off and camp all around the lake. Stayed and only saw one other person fishing on the other side.
