Wow! What a beautiful property! We pulled in to a closed gate, sent Andrea a WhatsApp message and within 15 minutes she and Dad were back to welcome us. We didn’t read all the reviews to see Tuesday’s are their day off. So make sure you message her if you know when you plan to be here.
For big rigs there is not electricity at site but there is availability if you need it. It was warm during the day but at night cool with the winds & a pleasure for sleeping!
The views are spectacular of Arenal and the Lake. Sweet dogs to keep you company. We did walk to the beautiful Eucalyptus forest and did a little bird watching.
Yes cold showers. Multiple toilets. All clean and spacious.
Yes a working ranch with 120 cattle, a few goats & sheep.
Andrea & her Dad have had the 148 hectare property for 25 years.
Definitely the most beautiful, clean and well maintained campground in Costa Rica!! We stay 2 nights and could have spent 2 weeks here relaxing!!

Very quiet place. Easy to go early at the Ghoha gate. No cars between 4pm until 6 am. Éléphants and hyenas during the evening. Nothing else during the night. Top

Good place for staying in Uyuni with bicycles. We could store the bikes in a street level garage (in other hostels we checked, we would have needed to bring them upstairs). Price was 50 Bob pp in a double room with shared bathroom.

Update: After 2 days, the police did a wellness check, and all was well. Then on day 4 a gentleman showed up to inform me, that it was private land, and the owner didn't mind 2 nights....mind your manners and keep it clean.

Overnight park and camp. $3 per night per person must be reserved online.
This is a nice place to spend the night. Quiet and right on the beach. There is a long strip for parking and large green grass area for tent camping. No sites are specific or parceled out so I’m pretty sure you just pick the place you like and set up camp. There is quite a bit of traffic during the day of people enjoying the beach but by nightfall only a few campers remained.
Toilets and outdoor shower facilities available. ATT has limited service and T-Mobile doesn’t seem to have any at this place.

tried to exhange MAD to OUG and were not sucessful. Went to some phone stores and could have exchanged there, but chose to go to an official exhange store. Rate was ok. Make sure you get the new money (and know how it looks like)

Overnight parking has been observed here for months. Park away from the mall on the West Side of the lot, along Columbia Street. Don’t park near the “Interior Health employee parking” area. Groceries, gas and fast food within walking distance.

It worked when I was there. The machine is inside Walmart at the back wall, next to employees-only double door. It’s a bit hidden but it’s there. 36c per gallon. Fast flow. You have to pay for the water at the cashier, not at the machine so no quarters necessary.

It’s open between 7am and 9am. It’s really clean. Perfect for a hot shower. There were two showers but one was broken. Many lockers. And three changing rooms !
You can’t stay so long in the shower if someone is waiting of course but it was perfect for wash my hair.

Not much to add to the previous comments. We spent 4 nights here. All the family are super friendly and helpful, Luis organised a workshop for us as well, and we were very happy with the mechanic also . Clean bathrooms and showers.

Be aware. When paying with card they will sneak in a big tip for themselves. We luckily saw it and denied payment until he corrected it to the right amount.

Quiet, safe spot by the church. Cachoeira is an amazing town, full of colonial architecture that looks like something out of Havana, Cuba. People are super friendly. This is also the center for Candomble and a few colorful festivals. If you're here at the right time, I'm sure it'd be amazing.

NOTE: Very close to this spot, there's a great Egyptian restaurant with a friendly Egyptian dude running it. It's called "Hórus - Bistrô Egípcio"

Amazing spot to camp. Not visible from the road and a really good view of the Pedras Negras. Check satellite images to find the path from the road to get here. We stayed two nights, some locals passed to work in the fields.

they said I was the first foreigner to try and very surprised to see me. they said I could probably get in if I bribed at the border near N'djemana but wasn't where's the risk because I was already taking a huge risk doing it legally.

Large, clean campground with plenty of spaces. Very clean pit toilets. Seems to have a fire pit and table at each site. Gorgeous views of the Sierra Nevada range.
