A tiny lake with several covered picnic tables scattered along the shore. Some are three sided for wind protection, others just have roofs. Charcoal/wood BBQs are usually present at each table.
The pit toilets were clean and didn't smell. The area was really clean; let's all help to keep it that way.
A few other campers were parked around the lake, but we were the only folks in our camp area. The lake must be good for fishing, people showed up in the morning with a motor boat, and others with fishing rods.
The water was really clean, and we were able to rinse off in the morning. If it was warmer out it would be nice for a swim.
The lake is located in a large prairie valley with mountains off in the distance. Pretty view but not spectacular. The roads in were great, certainly no 4x4 required. The camp area wasn't especially flat, but we managed to find a comfortable spot.
Big rigs could definitely fit in some of these spots, but may have a hard time finding level ground unless they have their own levelers. If you bring your big RV, please respect the tranquility of the place and leave your generator at home.

You can find this place if you turn on the hostel filter, but it is also a great place to camp! 5 hectares of beautiful land next to the beach. Electricity available with a long cord if you ask the owner Liev. You can use the communal kitchen and cold shower and toilets. Great place for surfing/relaxing. Boards for rent (7$ per hour or 15$ per day). Highly recommended. Big rigs possibility and a lot of shade!

We didn’t end up staying here but just to update info - still 3000 for bed in a dorm with shared bathroom facilities. Kitchen available to use. 500 to use the washing machine. The place looked clean, just slightly dated. Natalie is lovely!

It's the parking lot of the ferry Organisation. We slept there for one night. And 4 tents were around us and a lot of other people sleeping in their car. Recommend for 1 night because there is nothing else around.

Great spot, there is a cluster of sites by the lake, another cluster in the forest, a big group site out back and another spot for two large class As. In total closer to twenty sites.

Beautiful spot on the lake overlooking white capped mountains. Though a bit more geared to RV’s than the sites further down the road, it is quite a bit nicer as well. If booking in advance note that the 3rd row has better views than the lakeside sites.

Cost is approximately $30 but included útiles, water and a dump.

Great stop if you’re heading up to Jackson

Just translating the last post. It’s important.
We traveled we believed but when we wanted to camp near here because they are rice fields, the same peasants or locals leave their farms because they say that at night groups come from Chimbote and Santa to look for victims. with a motorcycle and they did not ask for it. So we had to advance until later of the Rinconada town, Cañón del Pato road. Where the locals graciously offered us inside a recreational center to camp without fear because they say that the Rinconada for Chimbote is dangerous because they use firearms. Note: we ask to camp near the Rinconada police and they send you with the locals arguing that they do not have space. It is the first one that warns so tenaciously about the time in Peru that people are insecure, even the police do not inspire confidence and it is our fourth time Peru traveling through

Plenty of level parking in this area. Felt safe and quiet, even on a Saturday night. (Maybe it’s slow season?). Not sure I would put out a RTT here, but in a van or camper, it’s great. The waves are crashing and a few cars honking, dogs barking. Seems to settle down early though.

Translating note below to English. bad place to stay. The workers are very badly educated, they do not like the presence of the first, they sit at night after they wake us up at night to send us out. children of p *** I do not recommend

Great coffee tour at a traditional farm. They just started offering coffee tours and they are doing a great job!
The tour is interactive, you plant, harvest and process the beans. It's a nice and informative walk through the plantation. They serve a snack and a drink and at the end you get a fresh brewed coffee.
The easiest way to get there is to take one of the jeeps at the plaza. (The road leading to the farm is very narrow and steep and there is not a lot of space to park) The tour is 2 hours, with the drive there and back it will take about 3 hours. The price for the tour is 20000 COP ppn plus the transport (4000 COP ppn one way)
The tour is in English or Spanish.
Our guide David speaks very good English.

We also went to the „bad one“ (on the left) because the other one (on the right) was closed on a Saturday at 8am. 4S/kg. laundry was ready the same day (3.30pm). We would go there again.

We hiked up to the dune from the east side. The first 30-40 min are quite steep and there is no visible trail. You just have to climb a steep hill with lots of stones, many cactus 🌵 and some spiders 😉 once you reach the first plateau there is a trail that you can follow until the top of the dune - georgous views!!! ☺️ took us 2,5 hours up and 1,5 down.

Street parking next to large grass park. It’s good in a pinch but be sure to come when it’s already dark as there are many neighbors. Facilities are present, but may be inhibited by the fear of interacting with homeless. Stealth in, stealth out.
