Beautiful place to camp. You can either park up by the bathrooms pulled into the trees or right in the beach. The beach has areas to pullout in between the trees in the mangrove side of the road, or parallel park off the beach side.

CAUTION: be very careful with the tides here, the first time we came here we camped with no problems. The second time the tide was coming over the road and into the mangrove, so we camped up the road by the bathrooms. Flat and no problems. Just be careful with the tide!

I was hoping to stay here with my tent. I had no reservation, but there was no one home. The place looked terrible to me, so I returned to the centre for a hostel. A little shady neighborhood, if you would aks me. If you have your own campervan and you just want a place to stand, it could be fine. I would not recommend going here with a tent

ok to sleep with 25feet rv, easy to free dump, you need a verry long hose to take free drink water(you need the key in the shop)

According to the manager, they can’t say yes you can park in the parking lot, but they’re not gonna shoo you away either. Sleep well along the outside edge of the lot in the spaces by the roadway.

2nd time I’ve stayed off this road. A few more vehicles closer to Frwy but after a 1000 mile day. I was beat.

Camped in the car park of the main tourist centre. Guard at the gate charged its 100RA per person to camp (we were in a big group).

I stoped in this beautiful camping, I paid 165 rand 1 person whit a bike the people was amazing , have all the necessary.

Quiet night under the pine trees, as previous comments, drive up towards the right, far enough away from the road and a spectacular view. Chilly in the morning and evenings.

Great place to sleep with a tent, there are bathrooms and tables to use. Very peaceful but occasionally there are trucks passing by route 51.

Recommended! And there is a museum next to it which you can visit on the next day

Lovely spot! Not just a pull of but a proper little site away from road a bit. River access and a fire ring. Very quiet.

Fantastic views!

This place is amazing!! We recommend it highly. You can easily walk down from the turn out to see if further down would be good for your vehicle. We drove down the rocky hill in our 4x4 Sprinter van in dry conditions. The trees and the sound of the river are beautiful and you can find level ground. A forest ranger told us it was absolutely no problem to spend a night. We didn’t make a fire but he asked that we put it out completely if we did. We felt safe

Super quiet location, down a bit of a rough road, but my 2wd vehicle made it without issues. There's quite a few small creek crossings, that might be an issue during time of rain or flooding. The ghost town has a few structures, including a standing stone shell of a building. The camp spot is near one of the old homesteads that has collapsed. Woke up to a beautiful canyon around us.

Not an official parking as it seems in the first description. It’s basically a flat parking area. Nice view, but not very quiet with the big trucks passing by. If you’re in a van or car, I recommend the lakeside camping spot, taking the small gravel road near this spot. Big rigs won’t fit there though and this could be a nice backup. We didn’t stay here.

Large campsite with many spots and some shade (and a lot of people). Nice facilities. Nice pool. Grumpy owner.

Beautiful place, quiet, good Verizon. Trailhead connection to New River NRA trail system. Bathrooms are cold water only, but have an electrical outlet. Police patrolled but didn’t bother us.

Excelente lugar, al costado de una calle lateral al río. Pasamos una noche. Pasan algunos lugareños hasta cierta hora. Muy baja señal de 4g-5g.
