cholaynacattermole110 | Long drive in but totally worth it! Free campgrounds in the off season! (No water available in off season) Has tent camping area, RV area and 1 pit toilet aswell as boat launch. Great trails from this area and can canoe the whole lake. |

shaderfx | As reported. 3 nice spots with good views and quiet. I had no Verizon signal at all so had to rely on Starlink. The last spot is quite steep and probably hard to navigate for larger rigs. I could just manage with my truck and 13ft camper. Would not try bigger. |

compasschronicle.com | We stayed here for a very quiet night. Beautiful view of the volcano and the mini lakes! When the road was renovated, they tarred a little further away (a dead end), where parking is very easy and level. There is very little traffic during the day and actually none at night. It can get very cold at night, as it is over 3,800m! And windy, as it is a bit exposed. We had a thunderstorm with hundreds of lightning bolts that night, a wonderful spectacle! personalfisherman15 | Right at the Plaza you can find a little restaurant serving a menu at lunchtime. I payed 6 Soles for a huge Soup and Rice/Potato dish. Afterwards you will def. need a siesta. Good vibes as well, everybody was making jokes and trolling the waiter. |

roundaboutwest | Went to see the visitor's centre first to get the map for $5 showing all the 85 camp sites. Barbara told us lots of stories and the history about these grasslands and showed us a very informative 20 min video. Fantastic refuge, all open wide spaces. Saw a pronghorn antelope and some white tailed deers. Otherwise just peace and quiet with great views all round. Very sketchy internet reception at Camp site 34. |

fettekuh1880 | Set between road and railroad (both little used, about 2 trains a day and no increased traffic expected due to derelict rails). Camp owner Mike (owns a Lodge in Vic Falls, too) is very nice. Campsite still under development (expected to be finished in June 2024) offers 3 options: 1. 4 Tents for groups with private pool/ablutions
Two small waterholes (rather concrete potions). We only saw antilopes due to little rainfall but elephants frequently visit the place. Fast WiFi (StarLink) and electricity on the whole premises. |

marco | Whereas De Hoop is popular and busy, I was the only one at Richtersberg. I'd say there's good reason De Hoop is popular. Flat ground by the river is limited here, but if you prefer being in solitude it's really nice and peaceful here. Just be careful about the monkeys. I also heard more people talk about Tatasberg 3km east of here, but it's not on iOverlander so I didn't know about it before. |

Enok Vassel | Relatively easy access, 2wd is ok. The gravel road is drivable. Quiet, I didn't see anyone except one shepherd who didn't come close and a boat on the lake. Very beautiful views of the mountains and the reservoir. Suitable for large trucks. A relatively flat and large square. You can see places of fires and some garbage, but generally not too badly polluted. Good 4g. |

basicconsole95 | Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience with guide Ras Amani (Rasta) in Key Afer. He had promised to take us to visit tribes and the bull jumping ceremony but he couldn't keep any of his promises. He is a friendly guy, he introduced us to his friends and family, invited us to his home, and took us to local places to eat, but he showed us what HE wanted to show and not what WE had requested him. He was more like a local friend that would invite you to follow him on his life but will not focus on you and the experience that you are looking to have. He is not a professional guide with knowledge and technical/historical information on the tribes and culture, he prefers to talk more about his own experience and his personal life. Not at all what we were looking for. We ended up staying an extra day hoping to see what we came for but that still didn't happen, because he didn't manage time we'll, and we missed the ceremony again on the second day. And in the end he didn't apologize for not being able to keep his promises on taking us where we wanted to go, he kept just blaming others. I would not recommend his services. If you want a general guide try looking for someone professional if you don't want to waist your time. Otherwise just take a local guide in each village that you visit, I think that is the best option, and not take. a general guide, not worth it. |

larutamidestino | We spent 3 incredible nights in this place, next to the river with wood-fired food, we made a fire with great caution, there is a Movistar signal, the residents of the villa are very friendly, the place is safe and away from the houses, drinking river water It is recommended to arrive with provisions because there are no stores. pasamos 3 noches increibles en este lugar, junto al rio con comida a leña, hicimos un fuego con mucha precaución, hay señal Movistar, los residentes de la villa son muy amables, el lugar es seguro y alejado de las casas, agua del rio potable, recomendado llegar con proviciones porque no hay tiendas. |

jorgecardenassaavedra | Shelter for those who go on an adventure, it is a house with two pieces, it helps a lot to spend the night and protect itself from the cold. The place is abandoned, on one side there is a water line that comes from the mountain. I did the crossing on a bike and it was a perfect place to rest before going down to Chachás. |

3weltreisen.de | The ferry should definitely be booked in advance, we booked on Friday and didn't get a space for 2 axles until Tuesday, there are pictures when booking so you can find your car. www.coontramar.com. You have to give a Cista Rica phone number, we used any phone number. After paying you can download a PDF with the QR codes per person and car on it. We were there 1 hour before departure. Naranjo to puntarenas. Very useful, you don't want to be the leader on the ship. 2P+ truck approx. 24TCol. The bridge is currently closed for 4 months. |
