Landy-Peter | We found this big flat open space next to some old ruins. Well hidden from the road, but you hear the trucks. Some women walked by in the evening, all friendly. Amazing view at the mountains. |

AppleOverlander | Attention! Today, in the Soriana parking lot, 3 guys tried to rob me with a gun. Maybe they wanted to take my truck. They tried to drag me into my truck, but I pushed the one with the gun away and asked for help. They ran away. There was an interesting detail. There was no one in the parking lot on the right side, but then an old red truck (I didn’t think of taking a photo of it) drove up very, very close to me and seemed to block the view. I think it's an accomplice. Zihuatanejo becomes unsafe. |

continentallift69 | We tried this place after crossing the boarder with Paraguay at night. I confirm there’s still a free camping area with toilets (a bit dirty and with some big spiders, we didn’t used it). We didn’t look after the showers. The gate was closed when we arrived on the road but we opened it ourselves. The place was really peaceful and we have some great hours of sleep, but there’s soooo much mosquitos ! We had a roof tent, a lot of repelent and a net that kept us safe for the big ones but we had to leave after 3 hours of sleeping because of tiny tiny mosquitos and hundred of bites… We didn’t manage to stop them. So we don’t recommend this place until you have a perfect isolation. |

marginaloldie53 | Needed a place to stop and sleep. Found this gravel lot that is labeled on Apple Maps as a park and ride. No signs indicating we couldn’t park there. It is basically just a gravel turn around out in the middle of farm fields. We stayed one night with a 29’ fifth-wheel. No one bothered us. There was some freeway noise though. Easy access off and back on the freeway. |

massivewill59 | As described, super nice hostel and good vibe with Juan Carlos who is an amazing host. He cares to make you feel at home, sharing beers, bbq and anecdotes with all the guests. Perfect spot for cyclists, enough space to store your stuff safely while you go for a trek. He can give you advices on transportation and on the region and he is planning on developing the hostal. I could only recommend this place ! 25s/p |

overlandunderdog | Not far off the road but heaps of space for wild camping, some sections right by the cliff looking down at the riverbed. Quiet spot, no cars went by the night we camped, didn't see any people, just some cattle and goats around, plenty of bird life, sign of elephants but we didn't see any. get here by following the obvious dirt vehicle track off the road. |

Lookiir | Got here with a bus. The police seemed quite aggressive but they let us go after barely five minutes, I'm guessing they know the bus company and the driver. Nothing to pay whatsoever, but they were stopping a lot of private vehicles so it might still take some patience and diplomacy to get through by car without paying any bribe. |

elindamc | Had been to this spot previously when traveling through. This time we parked for the night & enjoyed watching the weather roll in. We parked in the gravel strip for the night & moved to the pavement at 6am to open space for the vendors to set up their jewelry & craft market (see photo). We enjoyed the bridge walk & Rim trail. We’re self contained & didn’t use the facilities at the rest stop. This was a quiet & peaceful park up & recommend for others traveling this way. Be sure to visit the vendors if you come this way 🧡 |

Lookiir | IMPORTANT: as the comment below also mentioned, Togo no longer delivers any kind of VOA until further notice. I unfortunately did not know that as the comment below showed up while I was reaching the frontier. Anyway, I am going to have to turn back and go back to Accra to try to get a visa at the embassy. I'll update this once (if 😅) I manage to get a visa and come back. UPDATE: I got my visa in Accra and came back with the same bus company. I'd recommend it for anyone traveling without a car: they were very nice and did not even charge me for the second trip (the guy was actually scandalized I had been refused entry and gave me the ticket for free ^^). Their name is Rimbo Transports Voyageurs, and they have departures from Accra to Lomé everyday at 10 o'clock.

TornadoTim | On the pass up to Livingstonia there is a concrete parking space on the side of this switchback. We stayed here for a night. There’s a footpath next to it and a few people climbing up/down but during the night it’s really calm. Doesn’t have a panorama view though as there are too many trees blocking it. |
