Beautiful location with 180 degree views of the lake and mountains. Great for one night. Very quiet and had ATT service.

We were happy to have a place to stay and see this iconic place. The weather was poor (rain changing to snow), so we were thankful to be parked on pavement. It was very quiet. Thanks Wall Drug!

Great views on each side of the junction. Someone else pulled in to camp as well after dark so at least two vehicles (a prius and a smaller RV) can fit although there’s no privacy in that case (but there really aren’t a lot of places to wild camp in this area as most of the roads are private and/or closed). A sedan also made it to the top of the hill (I’m amazed) in the other marked spot, and I had no idea they were there all night. Beautiful stars at night. Good ATT cell reception. No amenities.

Excelente lugar para pasar la noche, amplio y plano. Cuidado al entrar y salir de Puno ya que las calles son muy inclinadas, recomendamos ir por la ruta hasta donde bifurca hacia la costanera!

Excellent place to spend the night, spacious and flat. Be careful when entering and leaving Puno since the streets are very inclined, we recommend taking the route to where it forks towards the waterfront!

Even better place/spots than the south or north sites up closer to 191. Smooth wide easy access. Big rig access (Momentum M376). Spots right at the waters edge.

We camped one night here. There is a newly built boulder wall that prevents anyone from parking on the beach. This may be due to the high tide at some parts of the day. The water was very warm, and we boogie boarded with our kids. Beautiful spot! We ended up parking on the grassy area on the side of the dirt road.

As described. Nice campground, free! Verizon 2 bars without boost, worked well. But could be full when arriving late.

Quirky friendly hotel/wellness centre, very reasonably priced - they offer double beds in a dorm at Q80 and single dorm beds at Q60, or private rooms from Q250. They offer massages, yoga and meditation, with discounts for guests. Secure parking one minute down the road; the owners said they would work something out if you wanted to stay in the vehicle and use the facilities. There's a height restriction of around 3m.

Big open lot. Barely anyone else there at night. A couple of cars there but don't think others were car camping. GPS takes you behind the lot. I opted to just park in the lot itself. Noone bothered me. Traffic noise also didn't bother me much either, but if you're a light sleeper, earplugs may be helpful.

Clean spacious rooms, we paid 16.000.000 Rial for a twin with a separate seating area.
Without a doubt the best shower we had during our trip so far!
Good Iranian style breakfast buffet.

Place was almost empty but they gave the cabins right next to our tent so some rude group which was playing loud music and talking very loudly all night. They were moved to another cabin after we kept complaining.
Also the campsite is lit up by a ridiculously blindingly bright light. In our tent it looked like it was daytime already.
They had it turned off after I asked, but only after I walked around and found their security guy who was the only one who knew how to, because he didn't pick his phone.
Toilets and showers were ok-ish but not great, but the sinks are an afterthought, outside without roof or light (they're not in the light cone of the bright light mentioned above).
There are better options nearby...

Paid for 3 nights but left after 2 nights! Washing machines are broken, ablutions are disgusting, we had to walk to the car park for the credit card machine to work with an internet connection. Pension rate for 3 days was R816. Normal rate is R1020 for 3 nights. Kiosk is sad but plenty ice cream. Scullery is filthy and you can see that nothing has been cleaned. Sites are not raked and many are uneven. It’s evident that this place is just for the beach and fishing. The monkeys are a huge problem and focus just on stealing food (nuisance) both night there were two hyenas knocking bins and strewing rubbish all over.

Right off the highway there is parking to go to the beach. I spent the night and day here. Lots of wind and somewhat quiet, except for the cars passing. No formal setup. You can park to spend the night or just to go to the beach. No one bothers you and there isn’t a charge to park. Nice little spot for a day or few. Restaurants not too far way. Airforce and Coast Guard near by, might hear planes and helicopters. A small or very large camper or RV will fit just fine.

There are many flat, grassy spots here and nearby along the gravel road. Very nice views over the surrounding mountains, trees provide shade and wind shelter. Further up behind the pass there is a plateau with grassy spots as well and a stream, but not much wind shelter.
The dirt road itself is really not in good shape however, seems more people on donkeys and cows use it than anything else according to the taps on it, with loaded bicycles it was very strenous cycling up here (and down probably not fun either). You can however skip some trafficy highway by choosing a route through the quite picturesque mountains and its villages when using this road – at least by bike, but our route included a canyon section down south from the plateau (beginning at 38.5136,66.96255) that cannot be passed by car and needed quite some pushing with the bikes, but there are other paths on OpenStreetMap here which might be better passable, maybe even by 4x4 car also.
There are villages in the surrounding hills and some locals on donkeys or motorbikes passed by, a few coming to ask as always but all were friendly and left after some time.

Solid campground with a mix of shaded and open spots. I was in number 2 and had a visit from a turkey that lives in the bush next door. Camp host had a friendly cat named Jake who hung out for a bit as well.

Great spot close to moab for $20/night. No cell service or water. Has toilets and a dumpster. Lots of rock climbers along the road to the camp.

I looked for it with coordinates and checking the picture and only found it when I asked someone inside.

There's gas and diesel pumps and the dump station is right beside it. You pay and they give you a code which seems to give you a 15 minute accès, After that an alarm goes off. (what it says)

***Once you open the trap, don't close it till you're done!! ***
I was done took it out and for a reason I tried to reopen it and it was locked. I wasn't there 15 minutes.. so just a heads up.

Hopefully this and the pictures help.

When you turn don't go straight towards the far end where all the trucks are. Although it says trucks and RV, that's only the parking. Turn left and you should see these pumps ahead slightly right. pumps number 14 to 19. :)

*pictures with the pump/dump and the blue car far behind. The blue car is leaving and going back on the main road.

Here is the best and save place to park, camp and experience pure rural Uzbekistan. The place is a pilgrim place for Uzbek Sufis and others places around. An old man is the observer of the place. There are as well rooms to sleep in for free. The place is related to a middle age archeological site. The pilgrims are very kind people and not disturbing. Uzbeks are very kind ppl and will not border you with selfys or questions or lang small talks. Possibility to take shower is given and the WCs are very clean with warm water. Don’t forget to feed the little and big dogs here.-)). We spend 2nights here, it was fantastic and we found two little abandoned puppies, one alive other not. Please feed him/her too.

Beautiful spot!
From I 84 to this site, NF 21 is OK for all vehicles. From here to the Spring Creek Campground (a mile further) the road has some significant potholes.

This site is the first dirt spur to the right. There is a large level area beside NF 21. Further up the hill is probably 5 acres of open Ponderosa Pine where I saw at least 3 fire rings. The road up the hill has old washouts/ruts. OK for high clearance. But, if your driving a Buick, best walk the first hundred yard to plan your route. Loads of room for turn around after the rutted part.

I picked up a full trash bag when I got there. Mostly cans that people believe will magically disappear in the fire pit.
