I only met some aggresive dogs outside of the city entrance, and scared them off with my trekking poles easily. Other dogs seemed quite calm. Always bring some good defense with you!

Wonderful rest area. Yes there are "No Overnight Parking" signs, but I have found across the country at rest stops it's an unwritten rule you can stay overnight as long as you are being respectful and just stay 1 night. I stayed no problem 6pm-7am.

We had a lovely overnight stay here. The road from Popayan to here is stunningly beautiful so be sure to drive here in the daylight if at all possible! There was a young man sitting on a chair outside the bathroom for most of not all of the night. Perhaps a security guard? He was friendly.
All the fruit has been harvested when we were here in April but we still had a nice wander down the path to see the beautiful finca. No cacao or coffee beans are available for purchase unfortunately.
Highly recommend for a night. We took the lower road to get here. Super easy.

Pulled in around 10 PM to the RV park. When you’re driving towards the lake, it’s on your right, I missed it on accident and took a scenic drive around the lake. There were scattered cars around the lake either camping or just hanging out and when I made it to the RV park, there were about 10 RVs/campers when I woke up. The RV Park is clean, quiet, has power, hook ups, and a well water pump if needed. There are scattered picnic tables and fire pits if you’re looking to make more of a trip out of this place than an overnight stop. I believe there are bathrooms too but I did not look for them.

Camping around the lake is free, rv park is $25/night.

Step-by-step guide for crossing Chile - Bolivia: 1. you must pass the military check. He will ask you for your PDI. 2. You have to drive to the building on the right. Park on the left before the small Bolivian customs hut (barrier). 3. Enter on the right of the building. Adults must scan a QR code to register. 4. If you are driving, start at the counter on the right when entering (customs). They will cancel your TIP and give you the 'Hoja de Ruta' (essential). 5. Proceed to the following counters (immigration, etc.) by having your 'Hoja de Routa' stamped. Also have it stamped during the scan (xray). For the Bolivian TIP, this happens in the small cabin near the parking lot. They asked us for the chassis number and the engine number. They came to check on the car (first time in South America). They didn't check anything in the car. They just asked us to xray our bags. The entire process took us about 1 hour. Possibility of changing money just after the border.

This a nice city park/fair grounds/multi usage area. located at 800 W Huron St, Missouri Valley, IA 51555. Both RV $15 and tents $5 are welcome. There is clean 50/30/20 amp power and every third site has water. No sewer but there is a dump station on site with both flushing and potable water. I did not see any regulations or fees for dumping/filling tanks. The city does a great job on maintenance and general upkeep. There is a white fence and RV parking is on the outside of the fence on the gravel. I assume the tents can be inside the fence. The con to this location is noise. The noise, there are Union Pacific main line tracks adjacent to the park and trains run day and night with a road crossing a block away. That makes for lots of horn blasts. Hats off to the city, that place is clean and maintained.

It's a nice spot! There is a surprising number of cars crossing the river but there are some quiet spots during the week with or without shade. I wouldn't cross the river on a 2WD. There is a large enough area on the north shore where a 4WD big rig could park.

Large desert space. Technically you can stop wherever you want. It's extremely peaceful. The ground is hard enough not to risk silting. Very windy in the evening. Good Claro 4G signal if you set up on one of the hills.

Here you take the ferry to go to Baja California.

You can buy your ticket here, but better online to make sure you have a spot.

*** DISCOUNT MOTORCYCLE : HB24BF
(Remove 1000$ approx. costed me 3700$ total)

When you get here, check you speed from los mochies. 60km/h max. Police very strict.

You will need to pass guards at the port. And then got weight in your ride. You will need to pay an extra 71$ too for that.

The boat arrive around 8pm. Better be there before (6Pm) if you can. It is a very huge operation here, lot of truck and traffic around 8.

There is a waiting room with fast WiFi, AC, clean bathroom, two restaurant with excellent burrito at 25$, free coffee.

You can pay credit for the ticket.

Let me know if I can help you more,

Beautiful beautiful rest stop. Got in about 9:30 last night in our Chevy passenger bus. Parked in a marked spot behind the building (past the first lot). Beautiful lake views to wake up to and the stop is so clean and well maintained. Staff did see that I spent the overnight and there seemed to be no issues. I moved toward the lake in the morning and parked off of the turnaround area. Space for bigger rigs there along the drive. I worked virtually until about 11 am when I headed out. I would definitely add the extra bit of time to come off of 64 and stop here!
No lake access.
