Landy-Peter | No guy with a gun there, just a person making us stop and showing us two 5000 bills. We said we pay at the hotel, but no one asked us there to pay. When we left the checkpoint was empty |

Boreddesigns | Beautiful lodge with a few campsites right on the river. Good rates and friendly staff. Campsites are all level, overlooking the river. We are only here for one night but it's one of those places you'd love to stay longer. |

freemethodology90 | Quiet. Basic camping only. There is some water and a place to dump. We paid $8. for the site. If you are 62 or older and from Illinois you can stay here free, M-Th. The very nice park manager checked us in after he was done mowing and brought us free firewood. Love this park! |

Alpine | Update - Campsites 1 & 2 are on the right (W) side of the road and basically for a single tent (maybe 2 sm tents) The bathroom is on that same side, as is garbage and aluminum recycling. Campsite 3 is on the opposite side of the road and much larger. Probably 3 tents, if not more depending where you park. There is also a 4th site, N of site 3 on the same side of the road. Room for 2 tents. All sites have picnic tables and fire pits. Site 3 has a grill in addition to the fire pit. If you walk up the road 100ft, you can get 4 bars of 4G LTE with T-Mobile. Great views just up the road or a quick hike up to higher rock outcroppings. For free camping, this is pretty great!!! |

yummyanesthesiology82 | Equestrian and regular camping, mostly tent sites not rig friendly. Many sites are closed for the winter but a few are still open. $30/ night self registration but it’s an unmaintained campground in the winter. Halfway decent cell service, water pump, and pit toilets that are closed in winter. It seems like some sites are kinda one site split into two, so that may be uncomfortable if it’s a packed night |

thesilverwolf56 | There is no one around to check in with. sign says campers park here and there is a dog park right next to the parking lot. The larger park has pickle ball courts and hiking. On a quiet country road. Just one night. Very nice and greatly appreciate it. |

nomad_iron_works | Location is wrong. Correct coordinates is -2.2850481, -78.7700894. The price is $7 for a dorm bed. I am a cyclist and when I arrived, I was told that all the rooms were full. I have my camping gear and so they basically let me camp in a room they were not using for $5. Shared bathrooms are dirty. They said they have hot shower but when I was there, the water pressure was not good at all. No towel, no soap, no toilet paper provided. They do have wifi. Overall it's an ok place, but I wouldn't call it a good place. It was very hard to find a place to camp in this town in the rain, and other hostels were also weird, so I ended up here to escape from the rain. But I wouldn't stay here again. |

Jim Wooden | I crossed today heading south. I got there at 8AM and I was the ONLY overlander there.
As others have mentioned I also ran into two roadblocks on 190 headed towards the border.
Locals on motorcycles were filtering around so I tucked in with them. At the 2nd one I was alone, but was allowed to pass on after a couple minutes - as a result of my bad Spanish (that.... is a hint) |

Jim Wooden | I crossed today heading south. I got there at around 8:45AM, and I was the ONLY overlander there. Everyone was SUPER polite and helpful. I'm sad there are not more of us on the road but it is what it is. If you are headed NORTH be prepared for roadblocks and donation requests on 190
