What a lovely spot to regroup, recharge and clean up after a long boring drive from Argentina! Andre is a fellow overlander who is now a bit "domesticated" at the moment😉 He welcomed us with open arms and is an extremely helpful guy that is always willing to help out. The space is lovely with lush grass and very secure with walls on three sides and a security gate on the street in a very secure area of town. We absolutely recommend this spot.

Stayed one night. Very quiet, was the only way here until someone came to hike around 7am.

Arrived only at 15:30, but were still able to get a transit visa for 40$. It took an hour to be ready and we left at 16:30 with all the local Burundians as the consulate closes at that time. This might be the latest possible time to arrive and still get a visa.

A great little restaurant as you pass through the town. there's a truckers mechanic next door, but plenty of places for parking. delicious breaded beef, rice and salad and a very friendly lady. recommended!

Stopped here to park for the night, but they said it wasn't possible and didn't offer any explanation. Maybe it was full?
In the other direction, there's a big Terpel as well (+-1 km south) and there was a truck parking lot there, so we staid there.

this is a tricky one to find because the GPS will take you to the rest stop by the waterfall. If you're going south, it's on the right before the bridge. if you're going north, it's on the left after the bridge and the turn in is very nondescript. it's kind of a neat little area, decent cell service with Verizon, the stunted trees are cool looking, you're not getting a big rig in here. you'll bottom out coming over that hump. this is for cars and vans and truck campers. there is some water retained in the parking area so I'd be wary about putting tents down. there is private property that butts up to this area so be respectful. there is a slight amount of road noise but nothing to deter one from camping here. I wish I could add pictures but it doesn't work with my new phone.

The sign says no overnight camping. that doesn't infer. you can only not camp on the grass. especially since there's a fee-based campsite a football field away. so yeah this place is closed.

Nice and big pullout, lots of space. At 11pm the police showed up searching the area and shining light on us. They left and returned again after midnight, parking right in front of our camper. The situation felt sketchy, so we left and went to a gas station.

Place is as described, veeery quiet and nowhere near the railway which was much appreciated! You can even hide from the main road if you park at the furthest end of the parking lot (however can be slightly unlevelled).
But! Be careful with the weather, as the place can get /very/ windy and super muddy in case of rain, so check the weather forecast beforehand. We had slight rain in the early morning, we didn't get stuck fortunately but our shoes were a mess :D

Restaurant above the beach, with access to the beach. Loved the spot. Staff is super friendly. They did not charge us for the night, but we ate at the restaurant and had a couple of beers. They also serve amazing juices (mango+melĂłn+maracuyĂĄ).

Nice place to spend a quiet night between the road and a little valley.

It seems to be a small old road work ground. Some leveled spots and hidden from the road.

You will have rabbits as guests.

On these road are not that many places, we were lucky to find this one.

Angola side was easy. Immigration and customs took about 20 min total.

NamĂbia side - The VOA is possible 1200 Namibian Dollar (cash only), but the processing will take time.

Do not change money here, they will cheat you on counting.

Large strip mall parking lot with a planet fitness. No signs saying no overnight parking. Access to restrooms and showers if a PF member is great. Huge lot with a few other cars spending the night, didn't see any other vans. Got in 11pm and stayed till noon with no problems. Just parked in one of the far corners.

Possibly superior to Island Plaza because it's fewer other campers and we'll separated from the road by trees so it is dead quiet, including shady spots if you don't need solar. Quick drive to Folly Beach or Charleston downtown.

Stayed here a night. There’s a gravel section separate from trucks and cars where I could park my trailer, it was quieter.
If you’re in a van please don’t park in trailer spots, it is possible for you to fit so many other places where combo vehicles can’t.

As described, there are signs that say no big trucks and no overnight but Walmart allows it. Trash around edges, a few homeless ppl staying in their vehicles and a few hanging out by the brick wall. Seemed a little sketchy but no one bothered us and we felt relatively safe.

Stopped for the night, easy pull out, clean with road noise but fine for driving across these Kansas plains. Felt safe. Another one down the road closer to Tribune as well. Nice small bakery in Leota.

The friendly guard asked for 5,-$ for two persons plus 1,-$ for the car. The lagoon and the facility is very pretty and clean. View of the volcano amazing. Worth the money in our eyes.

Cracker Barrel never disappoints. Came in just before sundown and ordered something to eat (breakfast for dinner). Had parked behind the restaurant but the traffic woke me up so I moved near the RV parking. I guess more people showed up throughout the night as there were a few other vans and cars parked. Good nights sleep!

This is rarely used place for shooting. Offers some windcover. Hidden from the road. Not recommended during the heavy rain, because this is drainage area for the river.

It is behing the wire gate which is not locked.

trashed and gross vibes. Broken glass, dirty diapers, No longer level parking due to the amount of trash where the level parking used to be. Heard someone shooting, I did not stay here. Not worth the trek!
