Actually it is a narrow muddy grass area far from the house. The facilities in the building and you should cross the road. No wifi, no toilet, no shower no nothing at camping area. We couldn't see any view because of clouds. The road is very steep.

Nice free established campsite just off the highway. Dumpster at the entrance and we got weak but usable 3G cell service. Lots of spots for vans and RVs, but this spot is especially awesome for tent campers.

Tent spots: Once you park, walk down to the river (easiest access on the north side) and walk along the banks to see all the different sites. There are quite a few spots for tents on the soft sand right by the water, tucked in and quite private among the big smooth boulders and shady trees.

Stayed 4 nights. 5 dollars a night pp. great place as said before with wifi, and facilities and super friendly owner. It's about 4 km from town, so party and staying here isn't very nice, but quiet and nature is much more available. I also got a nice discount for activities

Beautiful spot overlooking the valley. Not far from the road, but barely any traffic. Just jackals. Locals came to say hi and offer wild mushrooms. You could also drive to the top of the hill to be out of sight.

We had some problems with our differential drive. They opened it up, refilled, gave us the Rest of the bottle and Charged us 40$ for everything. The fullsyntetic gearoil itself is allready almost 20$. The Most Important thing: we dont know a lot about cars, so I was having a look together with the mechanic. He didnt try to sell, he took half an hour to give us an honest opinion on several things and how He would handle the maintenance. He was not just looking for Profit! I can totally recommend this place.

Nice informal campsite with view on the Lake Powell.
We stopped 3 km before the Alstom point with a pick-up and slider because of the rocky road. Some 4x4 went at the end of the dirt road.
No amenities.

As already described. Awesome place. Mario and family, and dogs are great. Nice, chilled, well kitted out comfortable house. Lovely grounds. I came in my camper van. Although it isn't a campsite, I was able to park and sleep in the van, but use all facilities. I stayed 2 nights, and would stay again for sure. Outside town but great place to chill, and to climb Cerro Piltriquitron.

Hello big world

Border Iran - Turkmenistan
We arrived shortly before the border closed. Took us about 2 hours to get through.

Iran out was easy, nothing to pay. One of the officials guided us, because there are no signs. Note: You get your Carnet stamped just before the exit gate.

Turkmenistan in: you need some time and a lot of money. Customs check was very casualy. They ask, how much USD/EUR you carry. Required documents for our dogs: pet passport, health certificate + 12 USD fee per dog.
Other costs: Transit Visa with invitation letter provided: 55 USD p.p., stamp fee: 10 USD man, 14 USD women, fees for car (Toyota Landcruiser): 127 USD
We didn't get a GPS!

Drive off the tarmaq before you reach the parking and follow the grey gravel track around the ruins of the ancient city. Suitable for 2wd. Quiet place, out of sight from the road.

We paid 50,000 for 2 people/night. It was ok for a cheap room but our shower door was broken and the bathroom floor flooded as a result. Best part: secure parking!

Great little cafe on one of the squares, nice atmosphere and tables outside too. We only had coffee, hot chocolate (with Bailey’s) and carrot cake, all really good. Wish we could have tried some of the food,it all sounded delicious, and would have been a welcome break from comida típica (we had already cooked our own food). Anthony spoke pretty good English and was very nice.

This is the place to go when you want to stay near San Pedro! It's a really nice place at a small river with some bushes and a tree. Very quiet. Good access with 2WD.

NOTE: When coming from San Pedro, you have to take the road before the bridge! Maps.me shows the wrong way. The entrance is marked on iOverlander.
