Follow the track to the north to enjoy the canyon from a different view, park the car and walk for 2 min, there is a bit of shade, a table and some seats and a dilapidated toilet but perfect to sit for a while taking in the vastness of this place. Starting point of the 5 day hike through the canyon.

Turn left at the main viewpoint where you can park your car right up to the cliff. Perfect to have some lunch and take all this beauty in! So many tourists came, took a picture and left but taking your time, really watching and listening and let this place sink in makes for an even more special day.

Wifi still works with the password given but its so slow that I gave up after 10 minutes...maybe better to consider this a place without wifi.

At the end of the road which is quite bumpy you can walk 5 minutes and see the canyon snaking itself down towards Ais-Ais. Very nice spot for sunset.

Most civilized embassy so far. They had a guard outside and also lockers for helmets and backpacks. Went there early Monday morning, they gave me the visa on the spot. 40000CFA and two photos.

We planned to stay 1 day but ended up staying 5. The family is just amazing and so welcoming. We stayed in our van for 5$ p.p./day. The atmosphere is very open and comfortable. Miryam helped us with a lot, where to find a new stove e.g., as our old one broke, she informed is about the city and what to do. Cuenca is great, but this family experience made it amazing.

We went here and arrived late afternoon. Great place to stay in Banos, cheap and small. Great view of Vulcano on clear days. We rented a bike down in town and cycled the Ruta de la Cascadas down and up. Lot of backpackers there whom stayed several days, in return for cleaning/painting. Very friendly owner.

We let our door paneling be renewed with some nice cushions and are very happy with it! They asked for 40$ for endless hours of work and we gave 50$ which seemed a little fairer.

very nice view but super noisy ! there are 2 nights bars around and only not too wide camper van ca fit the street parking spots. though there are other spots perpendicular to the street that can fit wider camper van. my advise is to drive in the streets and park anywhere you feel good and quiet. local people say it s ok to sleep in your van anywhere as long as you are park on an authorized spot

We paid 10Bol for two bicycles. He wanted 10 each but I refused. Looks like there's a passenger service too, which would be faster and would probably take bicycles, but we didn't check the price. It's 100m further north than the vehicle barges

Very quiet parking at night, no overnight sign posted! Slept there 2 nights without any problems. Direct access to hiking traiks, rock climbing walls and nice river (when there is water).

Mechanic specialized in chassis repair and others, a bit chaotic but good attention; if you're lucky could be weekends. Good quality, adequate price; accept USD.

Free parking lot close to Chicago. We stayed between steak‘n shake and the copy shop. It was very quiet, there are no signs and we didn’t get bothered. Steak’n shake is 24hours.

Nice and refreshing waterfall, we payed 30 cdb entrance per person, a 4x4 track leads down but you can also park at the entrance and walk 0,5 km to the fall. Camping is possible, there is a pit toilet and gated parking area, big rigs no problem.

New all in one Peruvian and Bolivian aduana and migracion building. Recently moved/opened. Migracion and aduana desks are now located right next to one another. Fairly straight forward process just park in the designated lot, enter only onr migracion building for both entering/exiting peru and bolivia and then drive to the drive-thru aduana window located on the side of the migracion building and do the same thing for canceling the old TIP and getting a new one.

We used this border to sell/transfer our car to a new owner and swapped California to Washington plates right in front of the Aduana window with only a few eyebrows raised but no issues. Took about 30min for the new owners clear the border and we caught a bus back to Puno from town.

They don't accept camping any more. The owner was friendly enough but it's only bungalows now. Tara Plage Resort is still welcoming and probably a better option anyway.

Check-in in order to correct the category, this is an established campground, not an informal campsite.

This campsite is now better than described before. The name is "los Pinos". Grassy area with wooden seats and tables, only one or two leveled area's for cars. Width of the gate is approx. 2m and about 2.80 high, so not suitable for big rigs. Toilets are relatively clean (running water, bring your own paper). wifi works fine. Shower is hot, but dirty (fungus). Kitchen available too, but dirty (thank your fellow campers). Nice owners who are working on the place by f.e. Building a fireplace etc. 20 bol pp. Lake view and close to city center.

We stayed 2 nights here. Bathrooms are great but the shower is cold. The place is clean and we paid 15 dirham per person plus 15 dirham for the tent. Good place to stay while cycle touring. Despite the other reviews we didn't see dogs here and there were lots of people with motor homes. Maybe we were lucky.
