HahnSolo | Arrived after dark and set up a tent on the edge of the parking lot. Was awoken at 8:30am by a US Forest Service ranger issuing each member of our party a $65 citation for failing to secure a free camping permit at the nearest US Forest Service office. Very little shade and it was blazing hot within 30 mins after sunrise. |

gettin-lost.com | Still 10 USD pppn incl entry to the snake park. The campsite itself is simple with a big grass field where you can camp. Toilet and shower are okay, but not really clean. The bar is the main thing with a good vibe and friendly people. Also the owners are very knowledgeably and can help you out.

smorag | The climbing here is really fun on conglomerate rock... it is quite noisy though and if sleeping in your car I would recommend trying to sleep somewhere else ( I have placed a marker just north of here) ... |

smorag | Just a place to sleep/rest if you need to, and the preferred place for us to sleep while climbing at Las Chilcas for a few days - the petrol stations are on the other side of the toll booths so would cost $2500 clp to pass one way. The toilets are a bit old but clean enough and there are some benches to sit in the shade, plus a couple of play things for kids. There are not a lot of trucks parked here as there is not a lot of space for them. There are the cabineros next door and paramedics in the same carpark - also very cheap and tasty empanadas in the mornings! |

gardie8 | You are not at meat cove for a resort....you are there for the sea food chowder, the whales which there were pods and pods, we could here them letting air out their blow holes, for the views and for the amazing and incredible experience of a 9 km dirt track ride to the edge of Cape Breton.....it IS rugged but it THE most amazing experience, you simply should NOT miss this!!! The sea food chowder is THE ABSOLUTE best I had on the entire east coast! We didn’t camp here, drove in and out in one day.....but next time I WILL most definitely stay at least a couple days!! Kim |
