The entry by Central America Overland Expeditions below is misleading and NOT for this place. It relates to the Falls site at the main road.
This Lakeshore place is easy to find, just follow the track to the lakeshore... etc voila! We had lunch in the restaurant (which was ok) but didn't camp here, it all looks rather commercial and likely to be horribly busy at weekends.

Beautiful grassy area surrounded by pines. Most peaceful I have ever been in. Rolling lanes/trails to walk. It is very remote and takes about 8 miles of gravel road to get to. Lots of cow piles, but in hours of walking never found the cows :)

Talked to the ladys at the ticket office, they said clearly that the park and the parking is not a safe place during the night. They didnt recommend to stay here.

Another guesthouse/campgroud on the Congo-Nile trail, beautiful and quiet just on the lakeside.
It's run by a charity and the manager is a friendly and cultivated young man, fluent in french and english.
Self-contained rooms for 10000 francs, camping in tent on a little flat grassy area, just meters from their small private beach for 5000 francs. Camping in vehicle ok in the yard, but no view from there.
Big dinner for 5000 (they were not expecting anybody, but managed to get some supplies and got some fresh fish from a little fishing boat that was around). Breakfast 2000. Very good coffee from their own plantation.
No village around, so bring supplies if needed.
Great place ! Only downside for me is the absence of beer...

we are again after two weeks. good place for one night stop. The unpaved section near the river is in serious and dangerous erosion. The paved parking in good situation. The view in evenings iz wonderfull (weather permiting) arrive 2-3 hours before sunset for best light ( on the river, not just shiny snow on the mountaines) be very carefull from the land that is literaly falling into the river.

some highway noise throughout the night. not too bad.

Ok for a night.

There has all being said. I'm bit to lazy: on the main road to the back of the hotel there's a jazz called papa Costa. Is worth a visit.
Park your car on the side of the hotel. It has guards at night.

Ended up here when no one answered the bell at hostel LA. Very basic hotel with good secure parking for vehicles. Dingy. Height restriction probably over 3 meters. We "took a room" for 20 bol PP and slept in the truck. Shared bathroom and shower cold and dirty.
